Tim glad your healing up and surgery went well. As far as the food goes I say what ever is easier. Whatever we have will be good and good company is more important anyway. What everyone should do is pray for rain. Look forward to your return.

Re: Stringer material?

My first choice would be high density foam. Next would be the Douglas Fir. The grain is long and straight, but like said not cheap and hard to find. Last spruce . If you have any boat builders around you, go by there and talk to them about materials. They might have some scrap left over that you can...

Re: Boat would not start in the cold.

A new accelerator I believe is around $75.00. There are people that will rebuild one for a lot less. There are people that will say a used one is ok. My experience is to bite the bullet and spend the money to do it right the first time. Same thing applies to mags, new parts not recycled.

Re: High School Airboat Build II

Did you take the hose fuel off and free flow the fuel into something to check the pump has a healthy output? Maybe kink the hose some to put some back pressure on it. Also have you checked for fire as soon as it shuts off. You could also have a can of starting fluid on hand and when it starts to die...

Re: Riding in South Florida

The ramps north of the trail are open. Hunting by permit. Riding have fun, water is going away fast. Airboat club on south side of 41 is having a poker run this weekend. Corned beef and cabbage that is next to none. Good place to meet new people.

You need to check your pistons ring lands. If they are wore it will let hot gas go around the rings.

You can't use chrome on chrome. Check your pistons while you have it apart. Also check for intake leaks.

Re: I have a question

I believe the angle valve cylinders raise compression. That said there are other ways to get there. There has been horse power numbers thrown out for years. But most of them are only numbers. Most the air boaters I grew up with didn't have the money to go out and buy a new motor, so they were put to...

Looking good Kyle, maybe you can give Chuck a call out in Wisconsin and borrow his class to come out and finish it for you.
