Re: New and need guidance on 0540

Also i was wanting to install new plugs and wires on it. These look original. I have seen where guys put automotive style plugs and wires on them. Is thi...

Re: Boat insurance.

Krahammer I just took my boat out of my companies name and put it in my wife's name. She now leases the boat to the company. A company can't gift it but the company can sell to someone for $10 dollars. God forbid it were to happen, but what would happen if you had a incident like what happened a fe...

Re: Federal Wild and Scenic River designation 4 Kissimmee River ?

Absolutely no way I would want Feds to get their hands on this. Would rather see it made into a parking lot. At least then you could use it Big cypress is a good example along with everglades national park. And if managers get their way Biscayne national park. You want to get kicked out, give it to ...

Re: Tips on brazing cage wire

Make a T out of 1/2" conduit. The top should be around 12 inches and the downside 24 to 30 inches. On the long side flatten it and put a small notch in it. when brazing the wire you put the notch on the wire and you lean against it to hold the wire to the conduit. Adjust the lengths to where it...

Re: Glassing in stringers

I always bedded my stringers in resin and micro balloons, also known as Qcells. It fills any voids between stringer and hull. layer of glass does this too, just my preference. Definantly give your stringers a radius on the top it will make rolling it down easier. You can also use the micro balloons t...

Re: First Airboat Help!!

So does that mean if he took the Steel Flex off it . . . it be like it had no engine at all ? ... Sorry Deno, If you have poly it's going to be slick, so there is no reason to go any farther. If the hull has nothing it will get stuck faster than if you have steel flex 2000. Regular steel ...

Re: First Airboat Help!!

Whats it got on the bottom? You might have said but I don't feel like rereading. If poly than you have some sticky stuff. If bare glass that can be a problem.A coat of steel flex 2000 will make it seem like you added another engine. Lot cheaper than a engine package.

Re: Primer for a glass hull?

Duratec Clear Hi-Gloss Gel Coat Additive can be added to gel coat and you will get a shiny finished look. It will spray thru a normal gun, buy I use a cheap harbor freight gun because if you don't spray fast enough and clean it quick you lose the gun. No primer needed if you go this way. Prep is the...

I personally have a Sensenich Q on a little more than stock 160. It is about as quiet as your going to get. Other props push better but it is quiet.
