Re: Riding in South Florida

The ramps north of the trail are open. Hunting by permit. Riding have fun, water is going away fast. Airboat club on south side of 41 is having a poker run this weekend. Corned beef and cabbage that is next to none. Good place to meet new people.

You need to check your pistons ring lands. If they are wore it will let hot gas go around the rings.

You can't use chrome on chrome. Check your pistons while you have it apart. Also check for intake leaks.

Did you use the same rings in the chrome cylinder? Also did you check ring land clearance?

Re: I have a question

I believe the angle valve cylinders raise compression. That said there are other ways to get there. There has been horse power numbers thrown out for years. But most of them are only numbers. Most the air boaters I grew up with didn't have the money to go out and buy a new motor, so they were put to...

Re: Need help!!! Boat won't crank!!

Since you say you drained carb I'm guessing the carburetor is under the motor. When you pump the gas pedal does it drip fuel? If the carb is on top, remove air cleaner and look into carb and pump the gas and see if the accelerator pump is pumping. You might want to try some starting fluid. As for fi...

Re: thru hull transducer

If there is poly on the bottom I would bet money it will not work. The poly will trap air between the layers and that will screw up the signal. Air pockets in fiberglass will stop the signal. The shoot thru hull transducers I have installed came with a mount that was glued inside to the bottom of th...

Put enough water in the boat to submerge the transducer and try it. I doubt it will work on aluminum.

Re: PE-60 Raw Fuel in crankcase Breather Tank

Have you checked the oil in the engine? If the fuel pump is leaking it can leak into the crankcase and dilute the oil and wipe out motor.
