Re: 6 blade warp drive on a 0320 150 hp

I personally have a Sensenich Q on a little more than stock 160. It is about as quiet as your going to get. Other props push better but it is quiet.

Re: First Airboat Help!!

Did he say it was a 150? Could be 160. 15% sounds a little high. The warp drive is going to sound like a weed eater no getting around that. But if you get it cheap enough and it is what he says it is, you can change the prop. Sounds like your knowledgeable around engines to know if something is runn...

Your buying a boat and you haven't heard it run? Keep it light and it might surprise you.

Try and borrow some Q blades and try that. If looking to buy new, try a Whirlwind Excaliber.

Call Mako hose and rubber. (561) 795-6200 I think they measure overall, end to end.

Re: is it ok to use aviation spark plugs O-540

You can use aircraft plugs, they were made for that engine. But they run around $30.00 each and minimal advantage, NGK around $6.00. If you don't have the aircraft leads thats even more money.

Tim glad your healing up and surgery went well. As far as the food goes I say what ever is easier. Whatever we have will be good and good company is more important anyway. What everyone should do is pray for rain. Look forward to your return.

Re: Stringer material?

My first choice would be high density foam. Next would be the Douglas Fir. The grain is long and straight, but like said not cheap and hard to find. Last spruce . If you have any boat builders around you, go by there and talk to them about materials. They might have some scrap left over that you can...

Re: Boat would not start in the cold.

A new accelerator I believe is around $75.00. There are people that will rebuild one for a lot less. There are people that will say a used one is ok. My experience is to bite the bullet and spend the money to do it right the first time. Same thing applies to mags, new parts not recycled.

Re: High School Airboat Build II

Did you take the hose fuel off and free flow the fuel into something to check the pump has a healthy output? Maybe kink the hose some to put some back pressure on it. Also have you checked for fire as soon as it shuts off. You could also have a can of starting fluid on hand and when it starts to die...

Re: Riding in South Florida

The ramps north of the trail are open. Hunting by permit. Riding have fun, water is going away fast. Airboat club on south side of 41 is having a poker run this weekend. Corned beef and cabbage that is next to none. Good place to meet new people.
