Re: AAOF fish fry & poker run

Yea, the Keys folks sure got it handed to them ...they're the ones that do the cooking for the fish fry. We'll get out there soon enough. There sure is plenty of water in the Park.

Los Brazos river

I saw that the river is at flood stage. Is this natural drainage or are they directing water in that direction?

Been on a few disaster deployments over the years with our USAR team. Starting with hurricane Andrew in 92 'till Haiti earthquake in 2010. It's a chaotic mess. I hope you connect with local agency having jurisdiction, get assignments and make some rescues. Be careful, work safely and return to your ...

Seen quite a few derelict pvc pipes sticking out of the water all over the place. Best to have those removed also...navigation hazard.

Hey, how about some more water?
Feast or famine.
Drink while the water is flowing.
The dry cycle will come around soon enough.
Patience folks.

You slide the 3/4 over the 1/2", leaving some of the 1/2" exposed, and brazing it to seal the ends.

Welcome aboard, sportsman. Nice boat ya got there. Yea, you're on the right track. Plenty of degreaser, a brush and go to town. You can use a pressure cleaner to help with the thick stuff. Good time for a paint-can overhaul while it's nice and clean. Exhaust threads are normal right hand. Just use l...

Hey Dragonfly. Welcome to SA. Yea, these machines are pretty cool. Each one has a personality of its own and behave differently than a conventional boat with a prop in the water. You mention you're 54 and never ridden one...it's about time. Lol. If you just want a ride and experience the thrill of t...

X2
I bought my gauge set from Lauderdale Speedometer years ago when we built the boat, back in 2009, and they are still working like new. I believe they are VDO with anodized bezels. Good quality, service and pricing. Great folks.
I discourage you from getting the cheap stuff from an auto parts store.

Re: Tips on brazing cage wire

Welding temperatures begin at the melting point of the base metal and then filler metal is added. It is a fusion bond. The temp is localized and very high, so it changes the characteristics of the metal, usually making it brittle. Brazing is done at a much lower temp. The base metal is heated over a...

Re: 3A-3B closed ?

Ok folks. Just spoke with Mr Reinert, who confirmed the Exec Order shown above is a draft and about to be signed "very soon". He said there are some language changes as to access and activities...so we'll wait and see. I wouldn't make any plans. They're closing it pronto.
