Re: OlfArt- Ken Johnson

I only met Ken once in person but I considered him a true friend. He flew helicopters in Vietnam and although he mentioned it a time or two he never bragged about it. A true hero in my book.

I'll miss you Buddy. Prayers for you and yours.

Maybe the spec is customized for a specific bidder. Happens all the time.

Non-Cert built to those specs were in the neighborhood of $10K ten years ago.

Re: My Next Airboat

I run salt all the time and Alumitech built me an awesome boat. The 18' AGI hull rides incredible 3/4 deck over with a GM 376 FI 525hp. Runs dry no problem with a load and handles a heavy chop very well. 25 years airboating and 4 airboats later, I feel like a have the perfect combination for my nee...

Re: My Next Airboat

I want the rankest horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine I can get. Don't care how much of what kind of fuel it burns except I don't want to have to mix stuff. Only requirement is being able to run in a couple of minutes. Rather not spray it but won't rule it out. Maybe twin-turbo either one on e...

My Next Airboat

Have to have 2 up and 3 down. Run only (mostly deep but the hill too) salt water. Going back to fiberglass and not car motor. I want to putt-putt over the dry stuff with no drama. Help me spec out my dream boat.

Re: CITRUS CO. SLIDERS, WEIGH IN.....

Great videos. Made me very nostalgic. Bought my first airboat in 1998, ex-tour boat pig with a 500 caddy dd. But oh the fun we had with it. Couldn't even begin to imagine running dry but actually ran very sweet and could haul a dozen or more like-minded peeps with ease. For the first two or so years...

I need what i think is an unusual cook setup

Temporarily moving to a campground that won't allow an open fire pit but still want to be able to cook outside - both grill a steak over oak/hickory/other coals and something to put a pot/fry pan on. The way I see it I need to have two sides. Side one burns good hardwood and is open enough to sit ar...

This is how my father got his coals. Most any wood would have worked since all he used was the red-hot glowing coals so any flavor was gone, but he wouldn't use anything except green blackjack oak.

Sometimes. Just sometimes, I see posts on here that are eerily similar to other media where people are looking for reasons to be offended. If you like who you are and enjoy doing what you do, ... why give this douche attention? The only credibility he has is what you give him. There's a member on th...

I just sold my old dodge 360. That motor pulled my boat pretty well, and got about 15mpg when not towing, but it was getting old and dirty and needed replacing. Thinking about a new "used" mid 2000 chev and wondering if the 5300 motor will pull a boat ok. I like it because they say it get...

Ditto on the hearing protection for the kids. Please do whatever you can to protect them. I'm very hard of hearing (have to wear hearing aids at work) and can't tell you what a pita it is. Like Country said, they only have one set.

Re: R blades sweet spot

sweetspot varies from setup to setup .. no appreciable difference in push unless 3 blade is over pitched or over spun .. then you need four blades. blades don't make push power makes push blades just convert power to thrust if 3 is gettin it done say on number 2.5 then four will be set at about 1.5...

Re: Does anyone know who the tour boat captain...

At least one of the tour boat operators turns north up into the little bay that becomes a canal a little west of the Salt River entrance in the Homosassa and runs up into the Little Homosassa. Some also run up on the bank in the northern end of Petty Creek pushing the marsh grass further and further...
