Re: Recovery methods for a sunk boat

If the sunk boat has a good solid bow eye and it is an open hull you can usually pull a submerged boat and it will stay upright and come to the top of the water. Pull it up into any grass, saw grass ,cat tails or shallow water with another boat and bail it out. If your to far from any shallow water I...

Re: am i wrong? NOT an AC vs. Carboat question.

My 540 would not be happy if asked it to do all you want. I hate to admit this sounds like a job for a geared carmotor to me. Maybe a gso0480 or a gso0540 could do what you require but I am not sure.

If the prop does what you want, a good set of ear muffs will take care of the sound if you find that objectionable.

What size is 6 blade ? It must be short which is not to good because that is too much prop for a o320.

I have seen your boat in action, I know it's the real deal.I have been fishing that area my whole life and never caught a small mouth that I know of, but I have been wrong once or twice. Well, i am mostly a salt water person when it comes to fishing. The Bass had a...

Re: polymer ?

About 20 years ago I ran a 0320 with a 4 blade warp drive and was told the same thing. I ran this set up for 3 years and logged about 600 hours of run time with no issues and also had friend with the same results. If I remember correctly we clocked the props on the crank to eliminate vibration but I...

Re: To Counter Or Not (weights, that is)

I have been running the same straight valve 0540 for the last 14 years with no counter weights and about 1600 hours to date. For ten years and about 1200 hours of running the older heavier carbon fiber props I had no issues. I have tried several newer lighter weight props with the harmonics making me...

I think the first one at the spot on any given day gets the spot provided they have their own stand. Sometimes it is a lot of work to get a stand to a location leagaly and you should have your own and respect other peoples personal property(You don't sit on someone elses car in a public parking lot ...

 Hell, No. It don't matter; neither does the beam (width). For instance . . . I have a friend whose ex-wife's brother-in-law heard of a girl that used to date a guy that ran a 502 Chevy big block on a 16' Gheenoe. He was told it only when down once, and that was at the dock during a hurricane j...
