Re: Electronic gas pedal for 5.3 ls

Mine is flipped over. Used factory bolts holes to mount in it a box then the box is mounted to the under the foot deck. This way you can move it around and even mount it extended past the foot deck like mine. Plenty of walking room.

Yes the Utah Airboat Association would be a good group to talk with. Totally forget about those guys on the Salt. They have a Facebook page and here is their website http://www.utairboat.com/

Re: Who builds a nice galvanized trailer

Where do you plan to use it 95% of the time? Fresh Water or Salt/Brackish Water? Trick is knowing nobility of metals and how water/salt corrosion affects them. Aluminum and Steel/Zinc are both anodic (metal disappears in a electrically conducive atmosphere (salty air) - Don't use a zinc primer on yo...

RickMc, You have every authority to give them a stearn go to hell look if you get prop washed horribly. Sometimes its gonna happen especially if they get stuck getting off the grass, but still not polite to get blasted. Yes its the kettle calling the pot black as I prop washed a few folks that weeke...

Chuck Rackley 352-330-1015 - Tell him I sent you. Man has built minis, ecotecs, aircraft, and big power car motors. He is retired now and is a wealth of knowledge.

He will probably send you to Marty Bray to get a good glass hull for your toy.

Re: EcoTec Bad news/Goods news story

Yep 1.4L Turbo will only cost me about $700 if I blow it up! I have a Tri-infected locked tune but new ECU is sitting on my table ($40) and planning to start work with Jerry at Bad New Racing in the coming months since they offer so many bolt on mods for the 1.4L now. Was down at Kissimmee all weeke...

Re: Prop spacing from back board

I appreciate the respectful disagreement. But he doesnt seem to have an issue with plowing or the boat would not porpose... now if he makes an engine angle adjustment prop down and he feels the bow plow in the water or the ass lift when he is running dry then yep i would agree move some weight backw...

Re: Prop spacing from back board

Moving it wont change ground performance. Weight is weight and thrust is thrust. Moving dont change either but may make it worse if it changes distribution of all weight further back. Got a porpose then bend then back lip down at the transom. Want ground performance make more hp or drop some #!

Re: thru hull transducer

Look forward to to it and if it works youve answered my questions too... I didnt want to spend the money on a high dollar gps/finder and transducer and it not work. Talk about being a mad individual, but it was on my list of additions for the boat to test out.

Re: thru hull transducer

Uhmw has a very high impedence like an air pocket does. I dont think you shooting thru it. Signal strength even if it passed through would be weak. It shoots thru metal bc it is solid and conductive so signal passes easily. Water is conductive so signal passes easily. Bottom of lake dirt is resistiv...

Re: thru hull transducer

I did a small amount of research. There are some out there like Alumaducer that have the potential to work. But I never tried and I think there will be issues shooting thru the aluminum plus poly on the bottom of the boat. Next option would be to rivet a sheet of poly on the transom and mount a tran...

Century Drives: *Briggs belt is good up to about 75hp *Ecotec Belt is good up to about 250hp These two drives above are open belt and the lower pulley is cantilever design CH2 and up well the more hp you make just look at what you need... I kinda agree if you have the tools then buy the belt drive t...

Re: Which Belt Drive Ratio ?????? Help!!

Are you 100% sure if Peak TQ was at 5000 and that your HP peak is at 5400? If that is the case the your TQ curve drops quick... I am always in the favor of aiming for my HP peak to be at WOT with the prop toward the upper end of its efficiency range (about a 500rpm range) and in your case with 81&qu...

Re: Top airboat manufacturers?

Well being an aircraft enthusiast and homebuilding experience, do you want to go car motor or A/C motor? That will help dictate who you can void out... as some now dont like to mess with A/C motors... but the Florida guys still do plenty of A/C boats. Only a few here in LA and TX running A/C motors ...

Each one is unique in some aspect. Where you live may help you decide which one, as builders have subtle differences for the area they service and the clientele they normally have come through the door.

Have an idea of what you are looking to get? Where do you live?
