Re: Ideal hull shape to not hop or plow?

Before I did anything I would check the bottom with a straight edge or string line. I notice the bolts on the side If you're running poly make sure it does not have any issue. Mine started hopping on the way back to the ramp, after looking I found a 1' long cut in mine at a slight angle. Many hull e...

Re: MTS VT59 Shaft Rocker System with ARP Studs Clearance Issue

Deano sounds, more like the norm when it comes to performance caddy stuff. Always some kind of issue. Every part I bought seem to need some kind of modification to work correctly. That I why I moved on to the LS platform. Love a Caddy but will never go back. Can Almost buy a junkyard 6.0 for what th...

Re: 10.0:1 compression adding a blower optional?

If you have sq port heads just use the GM blower set-up. If you don't have the sq port heads get a set of LS3 heads and then blower. Can be done fairly reasonable.

Re: fuel injection pump

I have used the Walbro GSL392BX 255lph external pump. Seems to work well so far. If you use a stock intake with stock regulator mounted on the intake or use corvette filter with internal regulator if your intake does not have the fuel pressure regulator. Then there is always aftermarket Fuel pressur...

Re: LS repower!! Need help

I have a 5.3 that is carbed with MSD on a 14' Alumitec. Motor is stock had 113K out of wreck Silverado. I have run it with a 2:1 and now a 2.68. Has over 400hrs between 2 different boat. Built a 14' Alumitec deckover (older Round Bottom hull) with a L33 5.3 That motor turns motor prop with a 2.55 bo...

Re: Airboat reduction

I would say you will need more prop, but I could be wrong. LSmatt runs a 5.3 with a 76" 3 blade R with 2:1 belt, not sure where it is set. . I have built 3 boats with 5.3's: 1 with 2:1 Precision and a 81.5 2 blade R set just over mark 1, 2nd one had an L33 5.3 with a 2.55 ballistic it turns a 8...

Re: Polymer changed my boat. Help

I had a fiberglass hull that was older, it would only bow in the water on plane you could watch the bottom flex up as you got on top off the water. It sat flat on a concrete floor. When I put new poly on it force the nose down. As hull bowed up it forced poly lip at transom. I put a (3) hull jacks i...

I got a trailer from Chris over year ago. Wanted a few thing different, he built me exactly what I asked for and there has no issue at all.

BTW Chris also only builds airboat trailer.

Re: 3 blade 72" H

To me H blades are like an old school 2 stroke dirt bike. Fast and load but have a narrow power band at the top. I ran one on a 14' Aluminum hull with a caddy, Always felt prop was slipping unless you where into the throttle. Was set at almost 3, but the snap was great. Would make your ears bleed se...

Re: Need more power, not sure which route to take

There is a facebook page LSX parts for sale. There a number of stock GM supercharger on there for sale and you would want a supercharger cam. If I didn't do the supercharger then it would be Cam, springs, pushrods, Injectors and a Tune. Maybe add the throttle body and Fast LSXRT intake. Not sure if ...

Re: Need more power, not sure which route to take

Do a little research on cams, to make decent power in an ls you do not need a high lift cam. GMPP offers to cams Hot Cam and ASA Cam that work with stock valve train and upgraded springs. ASA cam has a nice flat torque curve and Both cams are low lift around .525 but have a little more duration. Mak...

Re: Round or square?

That is the route I took. Stainless is the only way to go, IF you are going to powder coat it or paint it you can use 304 and save a little money.

I used 304 and Saltwater fish all the time. Rigging is 5 years old and no issues other than my crappy welding skills.

If it is a demon it may have the EZ-idle circuit. There is a screw at the bottom of where the air cleaner stud is installed. Set curb idle, idle mixture screws then use EZ idle circuit to readjust idle. Get demon website and check out the tuning instructions. This help keep the transfer slot open wh...

For the subject you asked about top Manufacturers. Boats in Florida are either aluminum or fiberglass. Listed above are just the larger Aluminum manufactures and produce mostly welded boats, with some riveted. While they all build great boats, there are a number of small guys that build great rivete...

I ran the set-up that deano described bit I used a gutted thermostat. Also ran a large dual pass radiator. Never got 170 and ran around 150 unless I was running it hard.

I never ran an expansion tank either. Worked great for the 10 years I ran it.

I ran a MSD box, MSD high vibration coil and, MSD dist on my dd caddy for 8 years. It had a little better throttle response, started a little easier, but certainly didn't help me add any pitch to my prop. I would not have spent the money if I had not picked it up in the bulk caddy deal. If I was loo...

My Cadillac did that a few times when it was hot. I went to a push button starter and a Switch for the ignition. I could spin it then hit the ignition. With that said do you have the timing locked out, running a hotter plug, or low octane fuel in a high compression motor all of these could cause tha...
