Mild cam is not what you want, an rv cam is what you want or in search feature there is plenty of combinations to read up on.

Re: Has anyone found a way to grease steering cables?

I've done the similar thing, clamp a hose over mounting threads long enough to clear stem, remove the dust boots first, elevate this end and put a funnel in end of hose, make sure you cant knock funnel out with cable stem full travel, fill funnel with atf or as above mmo, cycle cable in and out or u...

Re: O540 10:1 piston or leave it stock?

If fresh overhauled, no need to scuff anything, be sure rings stack into same bores they came from, they'll be fine. The sky Tec has a weak spot, fine for planes that don't do hot starts, I'd suggest a Norman clay setup. Also have the impulse coupler (s) and dog pins inspected for wear, leading caus...

Re: What MOTOR and HULL do I have?

I'd run avgas, car gas will hammer the ring lands, also crack the cylinder heads. Where did you buy the boat from?

Re: What MOTOR and HULL do I have?

Well, it's not a 125 gpu case and it's not a 125-D2 otherwise there would be a breather at right rear of case. It very well could be a 150, the hull is hard to tell, too many different styling ques.

They are forged units, will last a long time, well worth the investment!

Re: Step hull vs straight hull

It all depends on how they are designed, I know of light riveted step hulls that can go just as fast sideways as forward, sleds tend to crow hop if too much bend in transom kickup, it all really boils down to the builder.

Re: Step hull vs straight hull

Step hulls transfer to a plane faster due to less area in water to break free, a well designed step hull will run soely on the step at speed, with that chances of blow over is reduced but does happen, flat bottoms take more to get on plane.

Tests show 50/50 mix of atf and acetone mixed works in a sprayer, heard the heat and candle trick too.

On a phone, it happens on other sites too, also it seems the ability to switch to the board view setting to the old style is gone, I tried the link but option isn't there.

Well I can tell that the upgrades have considerably affected browsing and navigating, the ads are slowing up page loading and entering text gets backed up, typing this i wrote 3 words and it took 15 seconds to load them. I guess Gerald has a point, get some stars under my avatar.

From my understanding it is the deer headcount on the levees that determines the areas closing regulation.

Re: Ring Gear Replacement

Personally I just heat ring, once new ring on, evaluate pinion to ring backlash, if there is no shim between mount and case then you may have fine tooth mount on a coarse tooth setup, put fine tooth pinion and ring gear on it.

If you get a straightedge and run it fore and aft at that rear lip, adjusting lip downward till dead flat, you won't need a trim tab, jacks just add crown to bottom for dry running ease.

Re: Tips on brazing cage wire

Make a T out of 1/2" conduit. The top should be around 12 inches and the downside 24 to 30 inches. On the long side flatten it and put a small notch in it. when brazing the wire you put the notch on the wire and you lean against it to hold the wire to the conduit. Adjust the lengths to where i...

Re: Is adding dual plugs worth it? 220 GPU?

Well, I can tell you, i ran against a guy in my boat with one mag off by mistake and he got me by a boat, ran same boat again with both mags on and jumped him out of the hole and walked away 4-5 boats ahead. Also having 2 mags has the advantage of getting back to the ramp or camp should one mag die....

My in-laws are there with my twins, wasn't aware with so much other stuff going on, next year will have my boat ready I hope, as you know a painter's house is never bright, a roofer has leaks and a carpenter lacks baseboards. Great tribute to our veterans, kudos!!

Re: Are there any pics of 4.3 direct drive set ups out there

I set one up for a guy, it was a vortec as well out of a truck, I built an adapter that bolted to the tbi intake with 1 1/4 pipe stubs down into plenum and a Rochester monojet atop that, it performed very well.
