Re: is it ok to use aviation spark plugs O-540

You've got a bigger issue than simply using the wrong plug. I don't have a suggestion off the top of my head, but there's nothing wrong at all with D-16's. Way too many guys using them without having your problem. I've used D16's, Autololite's, and NGK's and never had an issue. It usually comes down...

You don't need aircraft plugs. Don't waste your money on that.

What plugs do you currently have?

Those J series are so new, I'm not sure what kind of response you'll get.

If you do make the switch, please give everyone on here a report. Lots of folks asking about these props lately.

Is your fuel pump keeping up with the demand? Maybe an obstruction on the screen or in the lines somewhere?

Re: OlfArt- Ken Johnson

Thanks for kind words everybody. Mom appreciates it. I don't mean to sound abrupt so please forgive me but I don't have much time. Her and Ken had a storage shed in Plant City full of stuff that he accumulated over the years and couldn't part with. She's needing to get out from underneath the expens...

OlfArt- Ken Johnson

Just wanted to let everyone know that Ken passed away on the 14th.

Mom's doing OK.

Probably won't be a service but when I get home I'll take him out on the boat one last time.

There's not much to know. Put oil in it, run the right fuel, and keep your mags dry.

A good man has passed on. RIP Sam.

http://m.legacy.com/obituaries/theledger/obituary.aspx?n=&pid=183151956&referrer=0&preview=True Sam was a good man. He took me under his wing and showed me everything I know about boats. My dad had just died and he was definitely like a father figure to me for a few years. He was the fir...

I could only hope that one day I'd be blessed enough to be able to simply have $60,000 to give up front to a boat builder.

I don't feel much sympathy for you.

Yeah, but that video shows the problem with them little dogs. They are too small to stop one. Those penned hogs kept running. It'd be a looong race in the wide open when they got their Nike's on. No thanks.

Re: Jagd Terrier (German hunt terrier)

I have a friend that is really into those German breeds. He had a Jag but said it was demonic. He's got a Drathar now that is a pretty damn good all around dog. I think it'll hunt anything from birds to hogs. Very smart breed that flat out hunts. But $$$

Re: Jagd Terrier (German hunt terrier)

They are kinda rare. I'm not sure what they'd bring to the table that other more common breeds you see on boats offer. There's dogs that are just as gritty, have just as good noses, and hunt as good that won't break the bank. I'm a catahoula/Florida cur/bulldog man myself but different strokes for d...

Re: Starter not engaging

How does that account for the starter working fine 100% of the time if I ensure (by manually turning by hand) the prop is in a certain position?

I guess I'm not understanding your answer.

Starter not engaging

What's the cure for a problem where the starter fails to engage the flywheel properly if the prop is at certain positions? Seems to be strong when it does engage. I don't see any obvious signs of wear on either the flywheel or the starter. If it does miss, simply turning the prop by hand a few degre...

No, he's right. If you aren't driving away with a boat in your rearview, you shouldn't be paying 100%. If the shoe fits, wear it but don't be offended. It is what it is.

Re: One star--two star--three star

If folks want to donate that's great. But when you put a star or whatever other symbol you want next to it it turns into a holier than thou competition. I did stuff back in the day for this place. I don't care if I get recognized. I don't need a star to be proud if it. If I never spend another dolla...
