What would you recommend on the lift?

I got the cage off today and I'll try and get the heads off next weekend. Not much but it's a start!

Re: Need more power, not sure which route to take

Ok, the plan is to put a cam in there (waiting on some cam specs) and going to pull the heads and have them ported along with new lifters, pushrods and anything else needed for the cam upgrade. Going to get rid of the VVT. Then a new tune and see what that does for the power. At least I have a plan ...

Re: Need more power, not sure which route to take

I read that article just yesterday, it made me want to stick with my truck intake and save the money. I'm not sure what size throttle body it has or how big the factory opening is on that intake, I assume a 90mm TB will work if I want to upgrade? I was also looking into having my heads ported, I hav...

Re: Need more power, not sure which route to take

I like those FAST intakes and 102mm throttle bodies but the gains don't really justify the cost. $1500 for 15hp might not be worth it unless there is a greater increase when combined with a cam. Having the heads ported was also something I've thought about having done. I'm looking at every option be...

Re: Need more power, not sure which route to take

Do a little research on cams, to make decent power in an ls you do not need a high lift cam. GMPP offers to cams Hot Cam and ASA Cam that work with stock valve train and upgraded springs. ASA cam has a nice flat torque curve and Both cams are low lift around .525 but have a little more duration. Ma...

Re: Need more power, not sure which route to take

Here is a link to Texas Speed for ported L92 heads and cam package: http://www.texas-speed.com/p-1170-precision-race-components-ported-ls3l92-heads-cam-package.aspx This price includes a new set of heads. So the price will be cheaper since you already have heads. My suggestion is to call them and t...

Yep, it is the L96 engine

1. Stock engine
2. Factory EFI
3.Stock truck manifold
4.Drive by wire
5.I'd have to look but Ty adjusted the pitch and tuned it.

I don't think it makes enough power to spin a 4 blade even with that reduction unit.

I'd spend $3-$6k. Yes it's fuel injected. 5400rpms at wot. The cam is stock. It's a Gen IV 2011 and up 6.0L

Need more power, not sure which route to take

Here's what I have, my boat is a 16ft Longhorn custom with a Gen IV 6.0L LS motor with a 2.3-1 belt and a 3 blade wide whisper tip prop. It runs well and will run dry but it can't climb a dirt boat ramp which is a big hassle. Not sure what the engine makes now, probably somewhere around 375-400hp bu...

Tuner for fuel injected LS motor?

I have a fuel injected 6.0L LS motor on my boat and I want to install a custom cam but if I do I will need to get it tuned. Does anyone know of a tuner in Texas or someone that does mail order tunes?

Which belt reduction CH-3 2.3-1 or CH-4 2.68-1 for 6.0L?

I have a 6.0L LY6 motor making around 400hp and tq. with a 3 blade 80" Whispertip prop and i'm using a 2.3-1 Century belt reduction unit. I'm wondering if there would be an advantage to running the 2.68-1 reduction unit over my current 2.3-1 unit? Will this increase the motors output or make it...

Re: Time for new polymer, should I try to install it myself?

i'd rather add the weight of t-bars and 1/2" poly which could be done for about $2k if i install it myself than buy a new hull. the added weight could be made up for with a little extra horsepower which isn't that difficult on a 6.0L LS motor.

Re: Any advice on removing dents and cupping between the t-b

thanks for the replies. yea i doubt i'll be able to get the hull back to where it needs to be and i'm not sure which way to go. i should've done the t-bars as soon as i got the boat and there is probably no point in dumping money into it now. this boat is barely a year old and i can't believe how qu...

Any advice on removing dents and cupping between the t-bars?

well i'm going to have more t-bars welded in but first i'm going to have to remove a few dents where the bottom meets the transom and level out the cupping between the t-bars. i was thinking i would lay the hull on the ground and use a big hammer and maybe a fence post driver and some blocks of wood...

Re: Time for new polymer, should I try to install it myself?

step one after i get the rigging out is going to be to knock out the dents and the cupping between the t-bars. i'm guessing i'll need a big hammer and maybe a fence post driver and some blocks of wood.

Re: Time for new polymer, should I try to install it myself?

working with 1/2" polymer doesn't sound like any kind of fun but that's what i need for the brazos.
