Re: This your rig Sniper? I'm over in Franklin at the fireworks show and saw this AWESOME sled! Have a good one!!

Guess the pic is not clear? Sure looks like the cable steering is hooked up to the back side of the pivot point and rudders are turning left and stick is forward knee position, so is the stick back or forward in the pic? Really doesn't matter except this is an official DOI training rig bought and ma...

Re: This your rig Sniper? I'm over in Franklin at the fireworks show and saw this AWESOME sled! Have a good one!!

Prototype, do you just like to bitch? Not at all, but I also don't turn right with a stick at my ankles or a cable hooked to the back side of my rudders? Could be a reverse cam in the works somewhere but turning left in the pic from your knees, dictates all push. Snipe has 5 foot arms or that pic i...

Dragonfly,

A tank of fuel and eats is pretty common on your end but after years of pursuing THE DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR, I cannot validate anyone is a trained airboat instructor for pay via the USA.

James, I don't have a excel spreadsheet for you like some. That's what you asked for but since you seem lost with tip speed v performance of a ww blade, I can only imagine your still lost? If not post what you did or bought to kick that sucker in the ass! Normally I would never post to a ex 220 guy ...

Re: RE: Re: Is there a formula for running dry?

What prop are you turning and what is it pitched at? I'm not sure the manufacturer and pitch, but its wooden. My dad swore by wooden props, probably because he had done this for the last 35-40 years. We're transitioning to composites now, and if we decide to replace the hull we'll put an adjustable...

Re: Sensenich J series prop

Sorry about the confusion on what we are trying to do with our new line... Most Airboater's know that originally, Sensenich came into the composite Airboat market to build replacement blades for Powershift products way back when. We produced just blades for guys that needed something in a crunch or...

Re: Performance difference slick bottom to poly

Depends on how both are attached or applied!
I've seen quite a few rigs done on 4 saw horses with 2x supporting the sides only. A glass hull will sag being done that way. 2 saw horses on the stringers is a pain to work around but provides a non sagged hull to deal with.

Re: What prop, reduction to go with

Aeon, It looks like some hard decisions to make on your own? I don't get some post about the s blade though? I'm only pushing low 4oo's with 3 79's S blades on 2 and a fuel burn of 3 an hour at max. I specked out a retro roller sbc with comp cams and brodix and eagle but the dyno numbers don't lie. ...

Only prop vendor I'm close to is whirlewind. I'm in Southern California... The boat is a pure hunting boat so top speed is not as big a deal as not getting stuck alone with no other boats around.... Ask Patti if they have something that compares to the sensenich s blade. It sounds familiar what you...

Re: Difference between direct drive and reduction gear?

I agree with buy what u want to start with.. gear box isnt hard to add though. Just extend engine stand out to it.. if u go belt drive u will still spin prop to the left as looking from back of boat, which is what direct drives spin. The prop on the direct drive would not be enough either way. Gear...

Full tank was because I didn't know how much fuel my tank would actually hold, it's called 40 gallon tank, but my math on it only had it holding 36 gallons at the most. I needed a way to judge how much fuel I would be going through later on when I went to put fuel back in it. Starting with an empty...

PC or Tonya? That's not the rigging I helped you drag back from lake whales? If you you need a hand tweaking it at bayport, I'll try but I've never tried tweaking a boat with seats that high on a 12 laser hull. Dam your center of gravity is beyond belief but should make a good night gig rig! If tha...

Misfire, I know exactly what your talking about and a good thought, BUTT?? there's always a butt! Both builders above make a fine hauler "but" may not understand the longevity factor of the need or use? I would highly recommend some bronze insert bushings in the tilt mechanism. Most tilt's...

James, A few things to consider and most disregard this? The gear is an option and so is the PROP! The magic formula to size or weight of hull or load cannot be defined. Most just estimate from advice and are happy with it? That's Okay but fine tunning a boat could get into serious money for optimal...

James,
No pics but I run a "one" 36 curve body housing in the center with 6 floods on each end and "two" twelve inch consisting of 4 floods on each side off center of the cage with spots in the middle of all of them. It's a SAR boat but the R stands for Recovery.
