Re: Gator Tag Results Are In

I went that route the first set of tags I got. Too far from home means you don't know the area or what works there. Now, I put in for the areas close to home. If I don't win, it is what it is. I'm not the only one that matters. Breathe in, breathe out, move on. Sent from my SM-G950U using Southern A...

Re: Ear protection for dogs

I've seen everything from Chihuahuas to Pits with earmuffs on. Seem to work very well. The ones I've seen have straps that make it more difficult for the dog to pull or shake off. Get a set and get him used to wearing them around the house then take him on the boat. This is Spike from the 4 Moons ca...

Re: What's The Story With This Engine

Just curious. I saw a picture of one and never seen one on a boat before. For that matter, never even heard of one before. Didn't know if there was a specific reason why it's not a more popular engine (parts hard to find/expensive as hell, too heavy, too temperamental, etc). I know the motor can mak...

Re: Never Forget

For that matter, a clump of grass. I watched a friend of mine all but barrel roll his sled by sliding into a clump of grass. To this day I don't know how it didn't end up as a wreck. Somehow, he saved it. Then again, a 12 ft sled; not a 18 - 20 ft overweight, overpowered, driver-over-his-head-accid...

What's The Story With This Engine

Anybody ever hear of a Lycoming 541? Kind of like an upstack except the exhaust goes down and intake on top. Ever been used for an airboat?

Never Forget

Our sport is so much fun. But, we must never forget the inherent dangers, either. Such a tragic story and needless loss.

I had a 68" Q with my H2AD. Good push but fell on it's face up top.

That's really something to be proud of Kyle. You did an amazing job. Can't wait to see that boat pulling up to my dock!

AFCO makes real nice oil coolers, radiators; pretty much any heat exchange product you might need.

You need to be there for your son. We can always party later; events like that only happen once.

I've seen it happen to AC boats going down the highway; same thing, about a 1/4 turn every so often.

Salvage Engines

I would imagine most, if not all, aircraft engines on airboats find their way to the airboat world because they are no longer economically feasible to re-certify to FAA specs. Is it worth the effort to convert an engine for airboat use on your own? Obviously certain items will need to be removed and...

Built SV or Stock AV?

I've been so busy at work I haven't been able to get to work on my Thurman. I keep going back and forth between taking the SV off my sled and putting the 320 back on it but the Don Davis is such a killer boat with that SV and just a decent little frog boat with the H2AD. I haven't decided to sell or...

Re: New Boat got motor ???

You could get away with an LS for the performance you say you're looking for but generally speaking, a boat that size needs big power. A good source of big block power is GTO/MAS. For less than you would pay for the Levitator you can get an all-forged, purpose-built BBC. And that leads me into my ne...

Re: Riding in South Florida

As far as riding off of 41, most people put in at the microwave tower just past the village, at the bend. Beautiful riding in that part of 3A. You can also head to 2A for a change of pace. Just put in at Sawgrass Recreation off 27 or at the Stub Canal 3 miles further up the road. Good riding, mostly...

Re: Gardner Marsh Water??

I rode KCOL last Saturday. Went as far as Square Pond and that was dry virtually the whole way. Looked like there was water from Square Pond heading up toward Hole In The Wall. Saw a number of boats head that direction but pretty tough running just to get to Square Pond.
