Re: Newbie frenchie need your discard for 1st build

You guys might want to explain to him what you mean by shallow water for most think shallow water to be 5 to ten feet deep. I ran in the everglades this weekend and I thought I had been running in shallow water till I seen what most of you guys run in. My toilet holds more water than you guys run in...

Re: Corned Beef & Cabbage Poker Run Mar. 18th

Hate to sound stupid but never been on an Airboat poker run so I'm curious as to what the procedure is and how its done. Ive done helicopter poker runs where we were given coordinates to buckets placed on the ground and we found them and landed, took an envelope and looked for the next one . Five bu...

GOD has blessed the Airboat community with this fine man and he sets the perfect example of what it was like when him , I , and others in his age group grew up. What he does every day is what life was like when we were young. You never locked a door, took your keys out of the ignition, nor did you d...

Re: Lost Hidden Florida Everglades Pyramid / Temple site

Glades Cat, I'm not sure but I thought the pyramids found all around were position markers for the Aliens from outerspace, I didn't realize the American Indians were their caretakers did you? That may explain why the Indians had this land way before others.

I got a friend that took a blue tarp and laid it out on his concrete drive and painted one side with COOL SEAL a product used to coat trailer roofs. After it dried he has used it for years to cover a boat and it is still in good shape.

Ive been told to never take it dry or I will be stuck. I'm going to slick the bottom but wondered if I should consider a different prop but I don't...

Ive got one identical to yours but no title and I have no idea what it is. I went over to the Florida license branch and ask if I could take the hull and other parts and build an airboat from it and she said sure, just bring her receipts from people/ businesses ,etc for the parts and materials and c...

Re: Hull identification?

You shouldn't need any information. Go to the license bureau and tell them you got a johnboat you want to put a motor on and license it, they should be able to fix you up. Most states don't require serial numbers and so forth on a non motorized boat but will license them if you want to register and ...

Re: thru hull transducer

My aluminum boat that I talked about above doesn't have polymer on the bottom so I can't swear to anything concerning it putting a signal thru the polymer , but I would think if it is in the water under the hull and attached with no major gap that the transducer would shoot thru it for some of them ...

Re: thru hull transducer

Like I said before, my buddy mounted the transducer in the bottom of the boats with epoxy. He claimed that as long as the transducer was solid against the aluminum that the boat bottom shows as a part of the top of water and aluminum bottom a part of the transducer casing but if there is a gap betwe...

Re: thru hull transducer

I took a depth transducer put it on the floor of my aluminum boat and it wouldn't read just setting there but I took my foot and put some pressure on it to the floor and it read. They have to be solid against the floor and I always heard it depended on the transducer, but I had a friend that ran a b...

Don't run regular gas in anything now for it is trash, use midrange or above or recreational fuel and the tank should be full if it is going to set for a while . Av gas, unless they make it different now can set for ever and still be fine. I've started airplanes that have set 14 years or more and fl...

Yeah I read about tiny techs I read they don't work very well with mags. I already spent money on this Faria diesel tach and sender which are brand new so I'm not going to buy something else. Ben The tachometer will work fine on a mag if installed properly. People install the wire going to the plug...

Re: Faria Tach Calibration PE-60 - How-to without removing prop!?

Have you thought about buying a MINI-TACH. They are very cheap and will work on any gas engine from one cylinder to eight cylinder and all you have to do is wrap a wire around one of the plug wires, set the tachometer to number of cylinders and your done. Just make sure that once you wrap the wire o...
