Re: Boat would not start in the cold.

I'm just guessing but your carb is on the bottom like mine. Car carb pumps gas out and it sqirts and drops down into the intake and runs toward the cylinders so the fumes are holding down below the carb and the butterfly is closed enough that there isn't much air to dilute the fumes and what gas wen...

Re: Diesel Contaminated Aviation Fuel

Don't be afraid to threaten them with an attorney if they don't want to cooperate for as I said before diesel will lube more than damage under most circumstances but again, you never are for sure. I don't know how long you ran it but if it was ran awhile or was started with the diesel in it that is ...

Re: Diesel Contaminated Aviation Fuel

sarahj: you will find that if you file a claim for damage with the fuel bulk plant that delivered the fuel their insurance company will settle with you due to the possibility of damage that isn't showing at this time. When the distributor delivered gas in my diesels they settled for a substantial am...

Re: Diesel Contaminated Aviation Fuel

Diesel fuel shouldn't have hurt your engine. Diesel is very lubricating and with the mixture of 100ll should have smoked some while running but should not hurt anything. Your engine got a good lubrication and once the diesel is all out of the tank then it should go back to burning clean again and yo...

I also wanted to say that the people that were out in their boats all day to pass out cards were super nice and surely very dedicated to have done so. I tried not to spray any of them as I left them and hope I didn't.

HAVE I MISSED SOMETHING?

I might have missed the topic but after the poker run was over at A.A.O.F I've not seen anything on here about how it went over all. I went, but had to ask another airboater to lead me around by the nose so I could get my cards for my navigator, bless her sole, kept me lost till he showed up and was...

Re: Boat would not start in the cold.

Aircraft primer kit is small lines from the primer assy that go directly to each cylinder so that when you unlock the hand pump and pump it the gas goes directly into the cylinder. But I agree with GMAC, if that carb is right it should start. I had a similar problem that your having and Greg showed ...

Re: Boat would not start in the cold.

I'm like GMAC, I bet something isn't right with the carb but as a last resort have you considered putting a primer kit on it. I'm guessing we are talking about an aircraft engine for I seen something here 0320. You put a primer kit on it and it will still in O weather with the carb off it. I had an ...

You guys might want to explain to him what you mean by shallow water for most think shallow water to be 5 to ten feet deep. I ran in the everglades this weekend and I thought I had been running in shallow water till I seen what most of you guys run in. My toilet holds more water than you guys run in...

Re: Corned Beef & Cabbage Poker Run Mar. 18th

Hate to sound stupid but never been on an Airboat poker run so I'm curious as to what the procedure is and how its done. Ive done helicopter poker runs where we were given coordinates to buckets placed on the ground and we found them and landed, took an envelope and looked for the next one . Five bu...

GOD has blessed the Airboat community with this fine man and he sets the perfect example of what it was like when him , I , and others in his age group grew up. Glades Cat, I'm not sure but I thought the pyramids found all around were position markers for the Aliens from outerspace, I didn't realize the American Indians were their caretakers did you? That may explain why the Indians had this land way before others.

I got a friend that took a blue tarp and laid it out on his concrete drive and painted one side with COOL SEAL a product used to coat trailer roofs. After it dried he has used it for years to cover a boat and it is still in good shape.

I have a 16ft hamant with a 470 angle valve continental 9 passenger with nothing yet on the bottom just stock aluminum boat with 2 blade sensenich prop. Ive been told to never take it dry or I will be stuck. I'm going to slick the bottom but wondered if I should consider a different prop but I don't...
