Re: Rpm talk

:thumbleft:

We both know . . . but perhaps I should have clarified
anyway, that there will likely be exceptions to every rule.

In this case, the tail end end of 400' or the back straight comes to mind. :D

The general consensus seems to be FARIA Gauges. https://fariabeede.com/2-pages/products_marine.php Nomad41 on here is a Dealer of theirs, and is the local go to guy as far as I know. You can PM him here, or I believe he listed his number in one of the below threads. These search results may help tha...

. . . Basically what I'm looking for is to get the most out of my engine, but safely. People tell me I need to turn it up past peak power, I don't understand why . . . I see it pointless to spin the engine harder than your best numbers . . . maybe I'm missing something . . . I don't think you are m...

Why run more if not needed If are satisfied with how it performs across the board, there is no reason (or need) to turn it higher. Re: Steering cable Teleflex

As far as added resistance (wear on your arm), there should not be any in either case when they are new and things are set up correctly. The practical differences that immediately come to mind are: a) Teleflex cable has about 8" travel vs about 6" for typical PTO cable. This is a good thin...

Re: Losing RPMs in hot weather

The whole tank difference thing, sounds like water to me. You said you changed the fuel filter, what the water separator cartridge? When and/or where a second tank may be used less, there is a greater opportunity for complications from condensation. Warmer daytime temps and wider temp swings can exa...

Re: 3"x3" Cage Wire

If you come up empty and have the means to do it yourself, you wouldn't be the first one to go to Home Depot and buy a couple rolls to do it however you want it. They had/have 100' rolls of galv. 12 gauge dry wall hanger wire. If I remember correctly it was about six bucks per. If you do that, a her...

Re: Primer for a glass hull?

The Nason line is made by Dupont so as Gary said, just about any auto paint supply store would carry it.

First thing that pops up on an internet search is http://watkinspaintsupply.com/ in Titusville.
I'd expect you could find somebody closer, if you have some local yellow pages.

Feast or Famine . . . At this end of the woods we've totaled little more than a fat half inch since "all this rain" started a few days ago. I ain't complaining though, everything has an upside. In this case, at least the grass in the pasture is getting a little green back to it; which beat...

That is about the best hands on, before/after analogy that I've ever heard.

Don't know if everyone should expect those type results though.
I strongly suspect yours was better built and tuned than most running around. :)

Maybe I have a soft spot for unique, but I kind of like that. It would look kinda neat with a facelift. I'm no neighbor of Bud's, but it looks to me like it could fit the bill for how I envision it possibly being used up there. I wish there were more pictures, as I would like to get a better look at...

I don't know if any of you guys been around here that long, but that reminds me of a Caddy boat that was for sale a few years back down by Miami that had chain link fence and chicken wire for the cage, a ladder of part of the rigging (or was it the grass rake?) and metal roof pa...

Re: Glassing in stringers

The 'peanut butter' as you've termed it, should be viewed more as a filler for voids than as contributing any strength to any such assembly. Ultimately, the resin is not where your strength is derived, but rather from the other materials. Because of this comparative weakness, it is more prone to cra...

Re: Glossing in stringers

I don't remember what exactly you are working on, or how you intend to use it, but I would go two rounds anyway. Generally, the strength and longevity increase exponentially faster than the weight which is miniscule in the big picture. Obviously there are extremes, from a small race boat to a big bl...

If you're coming from the east (Wildwood), after you go over the Withlacoochee River bridge there is a little restaurant on the right. Chambers Way where Lynn is located, is the third right after the restaurant. If you're coming from the west (Inverness), Chambers Way is the second road on the left ...
