Re: Plan design foar airboat France

My 300 hp minimum guess was in reference to your initial 16' projection and its load. If you cut back to 12' and minimize your load, then your 150 hp could work if you keep it light. Be aware that the Glen-L you linked above, is not built or braced enough for such an engine. I've not seen those plan...

Re: 220 bogs and loses power at wide open throttle.

Have you run it, bogged it out and shut it down in one motion, and then read the plugs? Doing so should confirm or deny your flooding theory. It sounds like, and odds would seem better it isn't getting enough gas. Are you sure the float level is set correctly? Sure your gauge is accurate? Holleys ar...

Re: MTS VT59 Shaft Rocker System with ARP Studs Clearance Issue

The ARP black oxide (8740 Chromoly) is what you want. I didn't go dig any out to measure them, but note that you're after three different lengths. Ten medium ones for the inside rows, and Two shorter for the ends and Eight long ones for the remainder of the outside rows. In other words, be aware the...

Re: MTS VT59 Shaft Rocker System with ARP Studs Clearance Issue

I believe all that he was saying is that given that your rebuild is using the lower compression ratio, that head bolts will be sufficient. And that while studs may have been preferable, they are not mandatorily necessary for that level build. I kind of suspected that was grease on that stud . . . I ...

Glades Cat is correct on both counts.

There are no such plans available in the public domain, and 16' is a good sized airboat.

Probablement, au moins doubler votre estimation d’origine.

Re: MTS VT59 Shaft Rocker System with ARP Studs Clearance Issue

No questioning that makes sense, it wasn't something that occurred to me. I've used Harland Sharp, RAS, and some early MTS shaft systems and not had that issue. It wasn't something that I ever thought about before, but guess I never put studs in, AND shaft rockers on, an early block. I hav...

Re: MTS VT59 Shaft Rocker System with ARP Studs Clearance Issue

That sounds like something is abnormal. I wouldn't want to shim them that far. Not only is that probably not preferable, but could be an issue if you already have pushrods and will only complicate VC clearance. Almost sounds like the wrong studs, but that seems more than unlikely from MTS. Did the m...

Re: 10.0:1 compression adding a blower optional?

My blower experience is limited, but from what I've seen and done, I would be inclined to purpose build another engine for the blower if that is an option. My assessment would be very similar to Swamphunter's friend in Tampa, in that lower compression will allow for more bang for the buck so to spea...

Given where you are, the first logical choice to consider would be American Airboats in Orange, Texas. Faron comes very highly recommended by many folks both here and elsewhere. It may or may not pan out as the best option, but it is certainly is the first one I would exhaust while researching my op...

The first one that comes to mind is Cliff at B&S Trailers. I think his number is 352-591-2161.

I can't even figure out how old this one is (15+ years), but never had any grief with it.
