Re: Polish A Boat

Look in my gallery, posted a pic of my new project I just finished polishing. Do some searching on here and you will get some good info. More is available on the internet. I like to use a liquid polish and a dual action polisher to do final polish. Lots of patience needed. The product I finished wit...

Re: HOW TO POLISHING ALUMINUM HULLS

My expierence with a polished hull in saltwater was a good one. I coated the boat inside and out with sharkhide after polishing. I always wash the boat after each use with rv wash and wax. The sharkhide will absolutly protect the finish from the saltwater but it takes practice to get it to lay on sm...

Re: Need more push what's my best option

I had a 2:1 belt with a 9 blade razor on a big 16 ft alumitech. No push. I changed the ratio to a 2.3:1 by changing the lower pulley and the belt. (century drive). Also went to a 3 blade NGR. Was a beast after the change. That was with a 540 bbc. I think you would be happy if you went to at least a ...

The only lace I know you can is at the swimming hole. Check with junglecat to be sure. I believe it's part of an agreement with swiftmud.

Re: Family is growing and I need a 7 passenger boat!

I have a deep 16 x 8 alumatech I built 2 years ago. I just built a dart block 540 for it cause the 482 BBC I had just didn't get it done, even with the 2:3 box. Not trying to bust your bubble but giving what I spent putting this together I'd say you need about 390 big face bens to go with what you c...

Re: FAST throttle body efi

Thanks guys. I'm looking for possible fuel savings and calculating the return on investment. 2400 bucks buys a bit of gas. I was very impressed with Capt Randy's fuel consumption last weekend on his ls boat. Seems to me the ls is the way to go. Just gotta save some coin to do it.

FAST throttle body efi

Does anyone have expierence with these on a BBC in an airboat application? They sound like a good idea from a tuneable air fuel ratio standpoint but I have zero expierence with one.
Thanks

Re: Machinest tooling question/help needed

Everyone has good ideas here. Maybe try this combination. Run the spindle as said before at a relatively high rpm to build some heat in the bearings. Not too much heat, just good and warm to the palm of your hand. Then spray the arbor with liguid nitrogen as previously stated. The liguid nitrogen sh...

pm 450hpfullhouse. he told me he knew someone for around two or three hundred. A Cut Above Polishing wanted 500 to 600 to do my boat from raw. I have a polisher so I am currently doing my own. I can tell you from expierence 500 is not out of line if the work is top notch.

Check very carefully for a crack in one of the pulleys. I had one on a GMC truck that was cracked. At idle it was fine, but it threw the belt every time it loaded up above idle.

If you are in the canal at bs hill go behind bs hill till it opens up. Past the trees on the rt then turn
rt. Go thru the tall vegitation be carefull of on coming boats, and go thru the narrow gap. Cove is a bit further on the left. Hope this helps.

Hello everyone. I'm would like to know if anyone has tried the razor x blade in a 8 blade setup on a larger boat. I know some on here run sabers on 16 ft boats and I'm trying to decide between the two. I know the x blade has a solid foam type core and Patty says they won't flex and are lighter. Are ...

I'm putting a BBC on my new 16 x 8 so this is something I have read and asked around a good bit. Best data I have found compares an edelbrock air gap dual plane to the victor jr. The victor jr gives up about 10 foot pounds of torque at 3500 rpm, a very small amount if you concider the torque a big b...
