Prop adapter question

Postby Greengore77 » Sun Sep 04, 2016 12:28 pm

I've got a C-125 continental 6 cylinder that has an 8 bolt prop flange. I would like to adapt to a 6 bolt prop. The smallest adapter I can find was 6 inches long. I need one shorter. Doe anybody have any suggestions? I'm new to the airboat community. Thanks

I think the Continental C-125 has the same flange as the O-300, which should be an SAE 3 flange (8-bolt with a 5.5" bolt circle diameter), but you should measure and perhaps take a picture to be sure.

You will need an adapter that goes to the SAE 2 flange which has a 6-bolt, 4.75" bolt circle diameter (also called the LXL flange for airboats).

Prop adapters are available in different thicknesses from 1.5" to 6". You can usually order what you need through most major airboat manufacturers, or we can help you out if you are having trouble finding the help you need. You'll just want to be sure what exact flange you have now.

I had an 0300 that I made a prop adapter/spacer for that was around 1.5 inch thick if needed I can hunt for the cad files.

Call circle s machine in Fort Mc Coy. If it can be made shorter than 6 inches he can make it or already does.
