Patti,

Please let me know if a 68" (9.75"w) or 70" (10"w) 3 Blade Narrow ever gets listed at a reduced economic strain! Love to try one compared to the older 68" SS I currently run.

Last I heard stress values on the forward swept blades were still a bit high to put them in practice. Proof of concept situations you can run the values at a lower FS (Factor of Safety) but to put them into practice where you dont have control of the elements and the installation without a good FS is risky. Give the WW group some time and I am sure they will tweak the blades enough to balance the benefits for the forward sweep and still provide a margin of safety where we don't explode blades regularly.

What is the benefit of forward swept blades ?

Is there a rpm specific gain or is it an across the board gain ?

Swamp... you can read on their website and do a number of Google searches on the theory. All about efficiency which improves overall HP to Thrust across the band. I am a mechanical engineer so this things I nerd about... pretty cool stuff.

Basic theory is that if the tip is grabbing the less turbulent air first it can grab and move more mass more efficiently. Also the design forces air inward further increasing the amount of thrust than outward resulting in tip losses

Hey thanks for the quick explanation on the forward swept "concept" propeller. That pic of the first prototype looks wild!

If they made a super wide 82 inch 4 blade version we could mate it to my 542 stroker and push meat thru the cage wire.

That bitch would slice up some lunchmeat faster than the Publix deli !
