You will have to tell us non-psychic folks more about your boat and it's power before we can help.
Far to many variables to cover all the basis.

Well you are not into the horsepower range of that engine if it is a GM Performance 572 that has not been altered.

The 572/620 drops it's torque curve at 4200rpm and is still building horse power up to 5400rpm.

How many blades are on the prop and what is it's diameter ?

A different gear ratio may be the best remedy and be you must be alert to your blades rpm limitation.

You can try the tab but at speed it may go on it's nose which creates other problems. Sounds like your lacking thrust.

BW,

First off this is not an Immediate responder site if there is one? Get real with tuning a boat or break the wallet out to buy one! No shame in that, lots do!
No need to post all over the place for your issues! Some of us have other things to do! Like tuning our own rigs!

Put it clear, your rig weights out a 5 thousand, plus another one in fish caught per trip. Honestly your catching a thousand pounds of fish per trip and your asking advice?
That's like asking floridians what they do to plane there boat after a successful moose hunt? Your post"s" is leading to a fish charter business, not help with a airboat!
One guy pulls a thousand pounds of fish a day or worse per trip daily???

Prototype, my reaction was similar.

Should've bought aluminum. :dontknow:
My boss had a steel hull years ago that would tote that load . . . but it was 42' w/ a pair of 496s. :D

On a less humorous note, adding a 4th blade, switching pulley's to
a 2.3 and turning the engine 5400 would be a good, reasonable start.

A couple relevant notes -
1 - Trim tabs can and will bring the bow down, they will not lift it up, and
2 - Correcting prop pitch is no substitute for proper weight distribution. (move dead fish aft)

I struggle to grasp why that ratio was selected?

It is just plain wrong in my opinion for that power plant and prop.

That fat boat screams 2.52 or 2.67 and 4 blades to me!
