Metal car port

Postby Gary S » Thu May 04, 2017 5:55 am

Looking for a metal carport to put boats under. Every company I call says they don't come to Miami Dade.

Try Carolina Carports. They recently did one for me in Palm Beach County, not sure they would go further south.

Probably because of the codes.

Not sure your situation but if your in a remote area and would sneak something in without a permit (violation) there are companies that will sell a do it yourself kit and ship. I was looking a few months back and one company offered engineering which if you were going to try and permit your project is required. In my area there are carport dealers scattered about with display units and pre-fab sheds guess Miami-Dade prohibits that in fact Carolina Carport is one of the companies ?

There's a place in Clewiston that's right on 27 close to Sonny's BBQ that sells metal carports. That is Glades county and they have same building codes as Miami-Dade. Don't know the name but I drive right by it all the time.

I believe Palm Beach County's building codes mirror Miami-Dade's. I know my carport was engineered/approved to 180 MPH wind speed rating. My structure was fully permitted.
