With coolant (anti-freeze) a 50/50 ethyl glycol is a good choice. Research has shown that nothing cools better than plain distilled water with a "Water Wetter" type additive, it is what extreme racers use but for us we need a solution that offers more corrosion protection. My aluminum head 542 has the new Dexos Orange in it now and it seems to be doing a good job. They claim Dexos Orange allows the engine to warm quicker, yet cools effectively and protects internal passages against rust, corrosion and scale.

Today I think all the major brands of coolant are high quality products just dispose and store safely. The sweet smell and vivid color attracts kids and pets to it with fatal consequences. Take the waste coolant to the parts store or county recycle center don't spill it out you may poison your own water supply. This stuff is bad shizt.

My good pics are on a puked computer, and you don't want yours like my current ones anyway.
These were made a LONG time ago; afaik, they're truck body mounts like in the recent A/C thread.
They work, but the typically used ones are readily available now so no need to use them on a new build.

The ones you want to replicate are like the ones BluByU2 made for his boat.
He may have made Swamphunter's as well, I don't know about that.

Either way, his are the ones you want. You might send him a PM or I'm sure
Swamphunter will be along before long, he may have some of them as well.

Sure he would, at least the front if not the rear as well. If I remember correctly,
the new rig he's building has the Caddy w/ a 2.09 OxBox on an Alumitec hull.

The front mounts were made by Ned for the original DD build (Neds Fabrication, Inverness FL) a few years back and are a very good design for use in a saltwater or rough service environment.

Thanks Kwan for IT support :salute:
