Black Monster

Postby kwanjangnihm » Fri May 12, 2017 4:16 pm

Battled the ol black monster at Kissimmee this morning! :violent1:

At 12:50 on the video I approach the entrance to the marsh across from bs hill and there are 3 hens with about 30 poults in the path, so I turn and checked them out, not paying attention to the darkness sucking me down!!
Water is way down so be careful out there!! Ran the point, milk bus, north cove and BS. :thumbleft:

Super nice video! Thanks! Yep extra foam is needed in that seat this time of year. Couldn't help but laugh at your two handed work out @ 12:50. Been there done that!

I knew it wouldn't be long before someone was busting Kwan's balls on that one and I also would have laid odds CMB would be the first to do it LOL
Awesome video as usual Kwan!

A great video to show folks how fast you can get yourself into a jam. This also serves as a great example of why you need to keep your engine serviced and run top grade fuel. You never know when a situation will require you to run it at a sustained full throttle to get the boat out of a bad spot.

You have some great moves their Kwan not sure exactly what you would call it but it was a combination seat shuffle and shake!

I love that you posted the whole thing, including getting hung up. Many a man would have cut that out... but that IS AIRBOATING!

Looked like a great ride!

Great video Russ! What model 360 degree video camera are you using? :thumbleft:

Well, unfortunately, I made the camera rig from various components. Its not something a person can buy amd use like a gopro camera.

So, its a rather complicated answer.

The off the shelf 360 cameras like 360fly, theta S, etc, all have different but crippling limitations on authoring 360 content. Most notably, they all have very short capture durations.

This rig captures 4k 360 video for any length of time you want. 8 hours of footage is around 50 GB.

Once you have the footage it takes about 4 minutes per 1 minute of video to convert it into a format that other people with standard computers and mobile devices can view.

Overall, the technology is not even remotely ready for general consumer use.

Give it another year or two and it will.

If you have super deep pockets you can buy gear that works great. Its just many thousands of $.

I made this setup to research 360 video capabilities in the robotics field I am into.

Anyway, wish I could give a more friendly amswer!
