Sorry about the downtime...

Postby rick » Thu Aug 14, 2014 1:23 pm

We had a pretty major database crash during the night.

Felt pretty damn helpless there for awhile, but it should be all fixed up now. The main problem was the size of the database table that needed to be repaired, along with the amount of disk space needed to make that repair.

That's cool. Withdrawal symptoms hadn't set in quite yet. Hands were beginning to tremble and lips were tingling but I survived.

I know that feeling, and I don't miss it a bit.
In actuality, you recovered pretty quick given what happened. :thumbleft:

In spite of that, I quit counting how many times I tried before this time when I got on.

Was kinda starting to feel like a lab rat pushing on a lever.

As the forum continues to grow, the databases will obviously get larger and larger. Sure glad this one was fixable. Wish I had a 50 gallon drum to collect the bullets Rick has sweated over this one ! :salute:

No problem, boss .... no problem at all. While SA was off today I got a few things done around the place that wouldn't
have gotten done otherwise, had time to put the Fear of God into my neighbor's cat, and managed to get Vivian so pissed
off at me that I'll probably never get layed again.

All in all, I'd say let this ol' website puke one more time and I'll probably be homeless, broke, and on a first named basis
with all the boys over at Chattahoochee's State Hospital.

Do they have WiFi ...... ? :)

Minor inconvenience for the members.
Not near as bad as getting your member caught in the zipper.
One is a disk space problem…the other is a di_k space problem.

Don't worry about the down time boss man.. I got all kinds of chores done in that time, amazing!  I just emailed to make sure my phone wasn't messing up again. And I figured out that problem too, I was trying to use emoji cons from my phone instead of the forums. Just fyi
