200 angle valve

Postby Macdog » Tue Jan 03, 2017 4:48 pm

Is there one 200 angle valve better than the other? How can you tell if it's a true 200 angle valve?

That's two different questions.

If you are asking is one Lycoming O-360 series 200 hp engine better than any other Lycoming O-360 series 200 hp engine what do you mean by better?

As to the second question. You can believe Lycoming spec's or you can put it on a dyno.

For instance, I have a O-360 series engine that with the set up I have I've been told by a reputable builder that it should develop 220/225 hp at 2950/3000 rpm. Do I know that for sure. No
Compromise is failure on the installment plan.

I don't have a clue what a GPU turns.

At present my engine turns a 68" 5 blade Razor prop set at 7 degrees 32 hundred rpm. I need to add a couple of degrees to get it to 2950 on the trailer or approx. 3000 rpm on the water

Not sure what HP GPU you're talking about but is that close to what a GPU turns?
