Cont. 520 mechanical fuel pump

Postby rowdy1 » Sun Jan 15, 2017 6:53 pm

Anybody found a way to put a mechanical fuel pump on a 520? Im tired on changing electric pumps. I had another one fail today in Cedar Key. It would quit every 4-5 minutes and the motor would die. I made it in by beating on it with a pair of wire cutters until it starting pumping. The first one that failed was a holley, this one is a 3 month old airtex. I'm thinking someone might make a low pressure belt drive pump I can rig up.

Go with the cylindrical facet pump, they last forever, 1/4" inlet outlet. There is a vane style pump that mounts to the front of the accessory housing opposite of the magnetos, it will need an initial priming at startup, the facet pump will allow it to draw through vs the Holley or other vane pumps.
I never finish anyth,,,.
