O-470-15

Postby Tread » Wed Apr 05, 2017 7:24 pm

I Bought an oil temp sensor for to install on my oil sump drain port. Everywhere I read said it was 5/8 NPT on o-470.
Well an O-470-15 is older and has a completely different sump.
5/8 was way too small.

I am looking for an adapter fitting that will replace my drain plug.
I removed the plug and took it to NAPA, it doesn't match any NPT fittings!!
The IPB reads brass hex head 1-14.
Is that the thread pitch?
Where can I find a fitting to match?

try a hardware store with brass fittings to find a reducer or go to home depot or lowes plumbing sections and see if u can find something to work or take oil pan to machine shop and have them weld in a bung like o2 sensor so u can screw it into place.hope this helps besafe y all :rebel:
