Prop help

Postby Tristen A » Sun Oct 04, 2015 1:52 pm

I am going to be building a mini with an aluminum hull and a Honda vf750c motor. The motor is a shaft drive and I will be spinning a prop at 2200rpms with the motor at 8k in second gear and I'm hoping she will climb the dike with it but if not, oh well. I might experiment with using 3rd gear as well. I need some help on what size prop would be the best suited for my motor to have a good holeshot and run dry. Also opinions on hull size is definitely welcome. What about aluminum rigging? Thanks in advance! :rebel:

A quick search would imply that depending on the year you have, that engine is rated at about 82 @ 9600 rpm.

With that engine/hp you will want to turn your prop 3000 rpm or a little better to get all the thrust you can.
The higher the rpm you turn the engine the closer to the 82 hp you will get.

What is your ratio in third gear?

It's a 1.450 Which with the primary makes it 3.39 overall
