The other obvious answer would be to PM Smuggler on here, which would be my choice. He can and will build anything you need and/or want. A quick search will provide quite a few pics, here is just one of many that he's made. Not a tilt, just the first one I found:

Just curious, why is it that you need a tilt trailer?
Under normal circumstances, the boat in your signature wouldn't need one.

In any case, Chris (Smuggler on the board here) can help you out, whatever you need. 352-428-9626

I bought a trailer from Chris a couple of years ago. He's a no BS guy and will build what you wish at the price quoted.

Nothing wrong with having a preference, I'm pretty sure we all got 'em. :thumbleft:

I can vouch for both B&S and Chris, both build a very good custom trailer.

My bet is Chris will be more willing to build exactly what you want.

Misfire,

I know exactly what your talking about and a good thought, BUTT?? there's always a butt!

Both builders above make a fine hauler "but" may not understand the longevity factor of the need or use? I would highly recommend some bronze insert bushings in the tilt mechanism. Most tilt's as your aware just ride on a 1/2" grade 8 bolt and wear what's ever the easiest! The aluminum will be no doubt the easiest to wallow out! A brass insert will provide a consumable for this need if there willing to design the tongue to clearance for it?

Sounds like your boat would have no problem climbing tree's or doing it for rec use on occasion but it also sounds like your looking for a M-F thing on a regular basis? Aluminum sucks as a dry pivot point!

Thanks for the plugs guys!! However for some of the reasons that Prototype listed and some more of my own, I won't build a tilt trailer. There is no doubt that I could, I just won't. I can make unloading my standard trailer easier by using the plastic covered boards and rollers on the tail, between the two it makes it super slick and very easy to get the boat off the trailer. If you would like to see some of my work, here is a link to my trailer photo album https://goo.gl/photos/8HkFV6zC8rgVqXrQ6 . Give me a call if you have any questions 352-428-9626.
Thanks Chris

I got a trailer from Chris over year ago. Wanted a few thing different, he built me exactly what I asked for and there has no issue at all.

BTW Chris also only builds airboat trailer.

Found out that there are 2 different Chris's building airboat trailers, one is in Brooksville with Custom
Airboat
Trailers and the other is in Melbourne with Dakota airboats. Not to snub one or the other but seems like the one in Brooksville is the one most are talking/referring to. The one in Melbourne does make tilt trailers and the one in Brooksville does not.

Missfire,

It never hurts to check around! I can vouch for Chis's work and Cliff's work as top notch! Custom Airboat trailers and B&S trailers respectively! I have also heard that Dakota builds a nice trailer but I've honestly never seen one in action! I thought I knew your goal but if you live 2 miles from Chris and can't work a deal for him to build you something that is clearenced for a easy tilt conversion,,, then go for a full steel package with a 1/2 inch grade eight bolt holding up your rig? I've never known/heard Dakota to build aluminum trailers?
Just an Idea but I know KARAVAN builds a sweet ass trailer too. Maybe you can convert a tilt pontoon trailer to fit your needs?
