Wow .... that's a mystery alright. Ospreys will sometimes hold a catch with both feet, but you don't have them. Maybe it was a prop and the prop spun it when it cut it. Interesting.
I caught one like that once up in northern Minnesota.
I was reeling it in and it took off like a shot.
Then it came in real easy and looked just like that.
I figured a Musky must have grabbed it.
I know for sure for sure there are bald eagles nesting at this lake . One of the locals said there were also ospreys . I wouldn't know one if it landed on my boat.
