Sure is quiet in here these days

I'm not sure why everyone uses Facebook to discuss, this is a much better format IMHO.

Info on this type of hull? Tomcat or aircat is what ive heard.

Definitely looks like an Aircat. They were made up around Davenport, FL if I remember right at a place called Hurricane Fiberglass.

HAS ANYONE FOUND TREASURE OR OTHER THINGS IN THE EVERGLADES

I think it's actually Miccosukee land, not Seminole. I know someone who has a camp down there and have been in that area several times.

How do I remove oxidation from carbon fiber prop blades?

I used WD40 to clean mine up from that oxidization look. I also wipe them down with it after a few uses to keep the gunk from sticking to it. Works very well.

    AIRBOAT LIGHTING?!?!?

I have lights on the cage and on the bow. I do not care for cage lights because the rigging and you create a pretty good shadow right in the middle of the boat. The boat I have now has a light bar in the rake and it works great.

    Panther, Diamondback or Elite?

I have owned a Combee and a Gore, but the Gore was not built by a manufacturer, it was a backyard build. Loved the Combee too, they just went out of business. Bought my 1st DB in 2005, and it did so well for me that I bought another one in 2020. I figure if it ain't broke don't fix it!

    Panther, Diamondback or Elite?

I can tell you this, after owning 2 Diamondback airboats, I'm not sure I'll own anything else. They are tough, dependable, and have exceptional quality to detail in all their work. They also work well with the customer, and are friendly to deal with. I don't abuse a boat as bad as some, but...

    Everglades / Stairsteps Deer Study

I know this is a mighty old thread but I was wondering what came of all this? I have not been down in the Stairsteps since 2016. On that particular trip once we were about a mile south of Mitchell's Landing we saw almost 0 life outside of insects. We thought it was very strange, but after...

    Corvair Power?

They must've been decent power plants because I remember seeing several of their conversion kit ads in the Banks Maxwell catalogs my dad and uncles had lying around. I had the 110hp on a small fiberglass hull (that I was told was a Gore) and it would not run dry, but it wasn't bad for your 1st...

    Corvair Power?

We ran several of those on small boats in both the glades and the salt marshes of Citrus County. We had the 110 and the 140hp models. Largest boat we put them on was a 12' Gore. I don't remember them running dry, but they would get after it in the shallow water. We had one on a 10' sled...

Narrated Power Point on history of Big Cypress

WERP is really all about storing water for the Miami, Ft Lauderdale WPB and Naples communities to keep up with their water needs as they grow.

Narrated Power Point on history of Big Cypress

WERP is no different and while I'm sure restoring the Everglades is a top priority, removing camp owners, airboaters, hunters etc. (i.e. traditional use) is high on their removal plans. It's why they were so shady with the initial dealings of the plan, not mentioning about how many camp/land...
