0470 to 520 conversion

Has anyone done the 0470 to 520 conversion? If so was it worth it ? my mech says i'll have approx 285 h.p.?

when it is time to do your engine that is a nice step up

My 0470 neede 4 new jugs and a crank so I went ahead and 520 it. It all depends what you want but I like the extra horses but I have also seen some good strong 0470s. You gonna run pump gas or av-gas?

What type 470 are you planning on converting? Is it a GPU, E-series, or an angle valve?

it is a t-11 and i plan on running pump gas , my reasoning is that the boat is just a little short when it comes to running the dry , i have some form of slick botttom but i don't know what type it was on when i got the boat i'm just trying to get a little better run on the dry
