I have a Classic Hull 1989 Model with a 0470 GPU and request answer for the direction of rotation to Purchase a Prop. Will it be considered a left Hand or Right Hand Prop? THe engine is mounted with prop to the Stern and is the Prop mounted on what is considered to be the front of the engine? Thanks if you know please reply!

Viewed from the back, it's a left hand rotation.
So since you have a 0470 and using a 72" Whisper tip how is the Prop working out? Currently have a wood 72" by 42 pitch and just will not do any better than cruise just not effective for dead stop on hard dirt? Any suggestions are welcome.

The Whispertip is a pretty wide airfoil compared to some other popular props. It has a great bite down low and pushes like a tractor. Good static push. It doesn't spool up as fast as a lighter prop. It does have a bit more drag at high speed than a narrower prop. I run mine at 2850. It's a good all-around prop. No ear muffs necessary. I've had it on since '09.

Apparently there is more than one type of Whispertip and the one I have seen picture of locally is not such a wide prop and narrows very slim as it nears the tip. What isthe model name for the Whispertip you've had since '09 GC?? Thanks for responses!!

I'm running a 74" Whisper Tip Narrow two-blade on my 0470-R (10" wide). Good fuel mileage and decent push maxing out at 30mph at 2600 RPM with my heavy Alaska hull compared to those used down south. I've considered either adding another blade (not sure if the 0470 can handle three 10" blades or not) or using the 11" wide Whisper Tip for more push.

To the person above that is trying to run a 72 x 42 wood prop on a 220 gpu. That prop is way to big. That is the same prop I ran on a built 540
year ago. I would be surprised if your able to turn that thing 2300 rpm. Get one of the newer ground adjustable props so you can play with it some and you will probably b surprised at how well it does at 2800 rpm or so.
