10 Gauge Wanted

save your money and get a Benelli SBE, shoot 3.5 inch and kill all the geese you want! Unless you really want the punishment a 10ga delivers..

Rich, I want the abuse of a 10 Gauge. There has got to be someone out there that has one sitting in the closet that hates the beating their shoulder takes and would like to make me a deal on it! :)

the 3 1/2 SP-10 is not supposed to kick any worse than a 12 gauge.

I have a SBE, and it is a great gun, and a nice fit between a 12ga and a 10ga. But it will not get close to playing in the same game as a 10 ga. I also would rather have a SP-10 over the others. I have shoot several, and hunting with guys that own them. Never seen anything that would make me shy away from them, and a Auto 10 is the only way to go in the 10's.

If I couldn't afford one, I would just wait until I could, which is what I did when I bought the SBE 10 years ago, and have been totally happy with it each and every year.

Faron, send me an e-mail about this, just so I don't forget. I have a couple of Web Site that I have bought guns off of. I bought my SBE, 10 years ago, when the local prifce was $1300, for $949, camo, 28 " Barrel and all the bells and whistle. When it was all said and done, I bought it for $370 cheaper than I could have bought it locally. cooter

All I can say is the SBE II is a P.O.S. I have had nothing but trouble from day one, called the factory and replaced the firing pin spring, recoil spring, and the feed tube spring and it still malfunctions. And all the hype about the comfortech system is B.S. in my opinion as well, I bought the Beretta Extrema II K/O Max4 and it is the ticket.
They day that did it for me was when I had 4 cotinential mallard drakes floating in a 20+ mph wind over the decoys and I jumped up to shoot and what happened nothing a malfunction again. I went to buy another one immediately after the hunt and picked 2 brand new SBE II's off the shelf and the both jammed when I racked the action.

No offense to the Benelli owners out there and I own one, so this is not a one sided opinion but mine can collect dust for all I care.

Ruger Stainless Steel all weather Red Label. The last gun you'll ever need to buy and o/u's don't jam.

Josh

Faron, you can buy that Red Label, and in twenty years sell it for more than you paid for it. They're magnificent shotguns.

Olf, you buy the Red Label and you let me shoot it. I'll keep your freezer stocked with ducks. :)

My wife would kill me for buying a $1,700 shotgun.

All ya gotta tell her is that it's an investment in the college fund for the babies .... $1700 now will get ya $2500 when they're ready to go be
Longhorns .....

I have one in a 12 ga. that's never been fired. It's just that ..... an investment.

Faron,

You should call Matt @ Four Seasons Gun Shop I don't know if he has a Remington but I do know he has a nice Browning 10 ga. that is his personal gun for sale it is pretty nice and I think he's asking around $550.00 for it if he still has it. I looked at it it has the engravings on it and all the furniture is in good shape as well as the bluing. Hell your dad can go pick it up for you his shop is on 62 in Orange.

Jeff

I've got the Marlin 10 ga. 3 1/2 inch. The Original Super Goose 10 they call it.
43 inch barrel and 56 inch overall length. I call it the AT&T gun. :D Bolt action but the clip hasn't worked since I got it. After one shot you don't ask for another.

you guys shoot some high dollar shotguns

A SS Red Label is 900-1200 deoending on the deal you can find. When you consider it costs about $200 to fill up an AirRanger 900 for a dependable shotgun that won't leave you hanging when 4 continental mallards are haging over your decoys is money well spent. Why are you looking for a 10ga anyway? You don't need it for ducks and you only need it for geese if you are making long passing shots.

Josh, I have already shot a years worth of ducks so I just want to have a little fun and shoot some of the real high ones. The ones that never come down for a look.
I shoot a 12G Beretta that smokes the ducks. I am hoping to do some gooose hunting next time I come to visit.

Josh,

I have a very nice O/U but when you take into consideration a 3" #4 hevi-shot load has the same perceived recoil as a .458 magnum rifle you don't want to shoot it all day at geese. I enjoy my O/U but it is my skeet, sporting clays, and dove gun.

Faron, I have an Ithaca Mag 10 (same gun as sp10) that i shot for a few years. It has Briley screw in choke added w/28" bbl. Some part broke in it a few years back and i retired it to my garage (looking pretty ugly) I now have Beretta Extrema and do not use it anymore. I really liked the way it shot. I would be willing to give it to you in trade for some deals on some airboat parts i will be needing in the future. Watcha think?
