Well I went and took alook at this boat and it turns out that the guy didnt know what engine he had.It is a small block 400 with a 72-32 wood paddle prop on a 12' rivermaster hull.I ran the engine on the trailer and it ran excellant but the tach. was inop. so I couldnt tell excactly what rpms it was turning. It seemed to be turning about 2500 but had been sitting awhile and the secondarys on the carb would not open and it started raining on us before I had time to tinker with it and get them to open up.My main concern is has anyone out there had any luck getting a dd small block chevy combo to run dry worth a flip, and if anyone thinks this setup would. The engine is pretty fresh I dont know whats in it but it has a performer alum. intake new stainless headers and the clear coat hasnt even worn off the erosion strips on the prop yet.Any ideas on how this boat might perform would be appreciated :?
