Congrats on applying a little Cracker wisdon to the problem and making a big improvement. If your boat runs level at its highest speed prior to porposing, you might need just a bit more donward bend to eliminate it completely. If it is slightly lower on one side, the bend that side tab down just a bit and it should level out, rear mounted trim tabs at the corners affect the opposite side of bow trim.

The same thing can be achieved on a boat with polymer by placing strip of polymer 1.5" to 2" wide across the back of the hull between the polymer and the hull.

There you go hangin around them darn airboat shops first rudders now trim tabs where will it end GEEZ u got the disease

barhopper, how would you adjust that polymer strip? just curious. i don't even have polymer on my boat. just a synthetic sorta rubberized coating stuff (bought the boat used). but i do have trim tabs very similar to moodfoods that work very well.

I run a 16' aluminum hull with 3/8" polymer and have a 1.5" strip of 1/4" at the very back of the boatattached by the bolts on the back of the boat.
I have not tried any other combination because that set up worked for me on the first try. I was told about it by a boat manufacturer and for my boat he knew what he was talking about.

BH, sounds cool. You lucked out that it does what it's supposed to. Maybe someday I'll put some polymer on this old hull.... nah, it ain't broke and all. But your strip on the back is a great idea, especially since it works! Clean and effective, that's the ticket.

Moodfood,

I tried your suggestion on the tabs and it worked great. Killed the porpoise. The boat handles differently now a little tighter I would say. It was too windy today to stay out and experiment but I think I will play with the engine angle and see what happens with that.

Thanks,
John

if you shift any weight around, like beer or fat women or even fat friends, you might want to think about a lenco.

Only problem that I can see with that set up is when your dropping your boat on the ground off the trailer.
