2 Blade Super Wide???

SAFARI RICK

Well-known member
Is anyone one out there running a 2 blade super wide Q series??? If so can we get a post on what their opinion of this prop is and maybe gets some #'s. Hoping to get some input before spending alot of $$$ then finding out it aint going to work. I've been told that the only way the Q series works is a 3 blade with the 2.68 box, Wondering ifin a 2 blade with the 2.37 box will work???

Thanks SAFARI

I think sleaz had one then changed to a three blade there was a post on the talk forum a few wees back try to do a search

I've read where a lot of folks run the two blade Q without any problem. The Q series is not the superwide though. It is 10 1/2 inches and is called a swept medium blade. The S series is 15 inches wide and is known as the swept superwide blade. I haven't tried one yet but I'm thinking of going with a two or three blade Q on my PE-150. The S series is for car motors with a reduction and have a max RPM of 2300.

I know of two boats pushing 500 hp with a 2.37 ch3 running 2 blade superwide and maxximus blades, both do very well.

Thanks for the input on this post so far, Just hoping that I got enough B@lls in my motor to turn the prop. and just wanted to bump this tread back up top.
Thanks SAFARI

my 2 blade superwide is night and day difference over my old 3 blade whirlwind psr.i run a 1.9 gearbox w/78" 2 blade superwide pithched real heavy. it breaks ground 800 engine rpms less than my old 3 blade and i cruise at 1800 engine rpm in deep water with me ,wife and two little ones.gps 21mph.but i also have a caddy turning this.

WaterThunder and I both tried the S series two blade set up and it works great for Racing but not to great for a ride boat it did not cruse well the three blade set up worked much better like night and day on a 2.68 set up

i don't have the box to swing 3 or i would have gone that way.but the 2 blade works good.for me that is.

I have been gigin frogs off a 15' x 8' 2 blade superwide set on the number 2 ,2.68 stinger ,400 horse crate motor and it does real well except by no means is it set up for stealth .It had a three blade set at 1.25 and it was kinda below the efficient pitch point A little on the dogie and boggy side.Yea it's one of cntry's boats.

dantheairboatman, thanks for the offer butt the big factor in the 2 blade deal was it is a precision gearbox.and i did not want to modify my engine stand anymore they only make up to a 2.16 box but it is a special order ordeal.i got my box dirt cheap and built my motor and chose a prop around that ratio.don't want to waste anymore money on this rig.next boat will be a whole nother ball game.

Ya see I'm currently running a turbo warp drive and am tired of the HIGH rpm's that I have to run in order for it to perform the way I want it to. Pretty much decided that I'm going to go with the 2 blade superwide and see ifin that'll work for what I got. It all comes down to a matter of $$$. Can't afford to switch box's at this time but I'll probably go with the 2.68 3 blade combo when I hit the lottery :D :D :D .

I'm still confused after all the posts and still almost every one still thinks the "Q" is a "S" the "Q" is not a Superwide, big difference between the two. Next thing you know every one will be calling the new "K" series that is about to come out a "Q" and then every one will be really confused.

now i am confused it looks like it was referd to that briefly in the top thread but it was not metioned together agian in the other posts.

Bondsman,

I am talking about a cumulative number of threads since I have been a member and there has been more than I care to count where the "S" was called the "Q." People see a swept tip and automatically its a Superwide for the most part.
