2 hurt in airboat accident

Glad no one was hurt beyond recovery.
Hope I never get my name it the paper for something like that.

Guess it is my time to preach - once again. It is called P F D

KRVSA stepped up and bought nearly $6,000. worth of inflatable PFDs for airboaters. They are for sale. The costs for manual inflatables are less than $60.00 and for auto inflatable is right at $100.00 each. 30 gallons of fuel. They don't get in the way and they will save your - and your loved ones life.

PFDs will save many airboater's lives. They would have saved two in Polk County two weeks ago.

Airboat accidents are never planned or expected.

Big Daddy,

Go ahead and preach! I'M LISTENING!

I try to make anyone who rides on my boat understand that's the first rule...

PFD'S required on my boat in any open water. Yeah I got the "stupid looking" regular vest type but have the confidence in the back of my mind knowing that if anything happens...

P.S. 2nd rule is no "boogie boarding" after dark!

Regarding the inflatable PFD's - A few months ago I purchased a couple of the manually inflatable PFD's (as opposed to the automatic type that deploy when they get wet). The owner’s manual does not recommend the manual PFD for personal watercraft or any vessel that can sink quickly. After thinking about that for a minute I decided that this type of device is probably not best for airboaters. So, unless you plan to tie off the rip cord to the seat stand (or something else), if you were to have an accident you might not be able to inflate the PFD. I also decided that I won’t let my kids wear them.
