200 Lycoming Temperature

Just wondering. My 200 usually runs around 180 degrees. When I have to hammer down a few times to get unstuck, the temp will go up to 200 and drop back to 180 after I cool it down a little. Is this normal operating temperature or not? My dad runs a 260 and his temp is constant at 160. Just checking. Thanks for the info in advance.

Hey Duck,
It seems to be generally accepted fact that the angle valve engine run hotter than the parralell type cylinders. Some say that if you run angle valve, then avgas is the only way to go.

Not sure what fuel your running, but I'd a least put 93 in it.
Marshmaster has put up alot of post regarding Lycoming temperatures.
