220 GPU

Is it backfiring out of the carb or the exhaust? Did this start all of a sudden or is it a gradual problem that is getting worse?

Larry

Just curious to see what the response will be. So I'm gonna watch this one in case I have this same problem. Could it be a Mag breaking down after it gets hot?

SIT BACK AND HAVE A BEER OUT OF THE COOLER. This way a six pack can probably last you a 2 Hr. ride! Probably not much help eh!

When my 220 backfired through the carb I had dropped an intake valve seat. :(

When this happens put your hand on each intake tube and see if one or more are hot. They should all be cool. If you got a hot one that is the jug with the problem. If an intake valve is not closing and sealing properly for whatever reason the exhaust gases will escape throught the intake each time the sparkplug fires and backfire through the carb.

Or if you have wiped an exhaust lobe off the cam, the exhaust has nowhere to go but out the intake

Nice post Buckthruster. Perhaps he'll get lucky, and all it will need is a spring.?

Always the optimist.

Like your idea on identifying the culprit jug. Never thought of that before.
