35hp Briggs and other lawnmower power for mini - good or not?

I've heard that these motors on a mini are great and reliable and yet I've heard the opposite - that they produce a lot of vibration and break things. Has anyone on here actually had any experience (good or bad) with them? Thanks in advance.

The 2 cylinder motors are not as smooth as a 4 cylinder but works fine if built right. Most ppl expect to much from a mini and have nothing good to say. Also a direct drive 35hp only turning 2800rpm is probably closer to 28-30hp. I ran many generac 990cc direct drive ultraprop without issues 25mph with 2ppl. Then used a 3bld warpdrive, It was too heavy and snapped the crank. A belt drive can help dampen the vibrations and get the rpms up to achieve the full hp potential.
