I have built 325, 350 and 400Hp 4.3 V/6’s all three ran as good as a strong O540. However you can really run them a lot harder and dryer than a 540 because they wouldn’t over heat. I ran the 400HP against some super light weight race boats with one seat, no polymer, and nitrous. The V/6 boat was a three seater fiberglass full size hull. It had a CD player and a CB and was a real ride boat that actually was rode in the woods it was not a river queen. The fastest boat I ran the one with nitrous was shocked when my 300LB butt driving a ride boat rigged to the moon out ran him the best part was when people came over to look at it and saw the CB and the radio. The V/6 have potential you just need to make the motors power range broad because that is the V/6’s weakness they don’t make torque across a wide RPM range.
