there are a couple of guys on here that run a 3 blade 72inch sesenich.
you would have to here from them how it runs. i should have went that route but did not. and chuck from airboat pros told me he put a 3 blade 70 inch cypress series on a dd caddy and said it was awsome.
I got a 3 blade sensenich but 78 inches. Just wondering what pitch settings everyone else may be running. You guys with the 72's what are your pitch settings?
bondsman, are you sayin that a 70" cypress is not the way to go?
do you not have the push that your buddies with the 72 " sensnich's have ?? and my next question is what setting does everybody with the 72" sensnich props have ?
i'm not saying that the cypress props were not the way to go,i let my cousin talk me into running a two blade powershift 74inch. and i have it pitched to 1/4 inch past the referance mark to keep me from blowing it off
my boat.i wish i would have bought a sesenich or a 3 blade powershift.that is what i was saying i push alot of wind but extremely pitched.a three blade would have been better for me because i have the money in my motor it is not stock.where if it was stock i would not even attempt to run
a three blade unless it was 68inch or 66inch.plus the three blade would have give me more push from the get go.
mickey,
I have a 3 blade 78" set on the first mark which gives me 2900 rpm max.
I have run a 72", set on the second mark for the same rpm. The results were the 72 snapped up quicker, but the 78 pushed better on the hill. We tested them on a boat with a lower engine stand. The 72 worked better. I only have about 4" of prop inside the hull with the 78". The other hullhad about 9" inside. It made a big difference on the performance.
The 78" runs great on my boat, but my motor stand is high enough that I only have 4" inside the boat. I tryed it on another boat with a lower stand and it did not perform as well.
