501 Cadillac hei distributor

I need a distributor for a 69 501 caddy. Wanting to get away from points. Can someone help me out, please. Jebb Luster 239 633 0017

I don't have an extra one here to offer you but what you are after is a
'74-'76 Cadillac HEI. 472 or 500, doesn't matter. Direct drop in, plug and play.

I have seen them rebuilt and reasonably priced on E-bay at times.

As an unrelated side note, there were no 501s or 502s, they were either 472 or 500.
472s made from 68-74 ; 500s made from 70-76

Deano is right, get a hei for a 76 caddy 500. you can order one at any parts store. I miss my caddy :banghead:

I've not dealt with these guys, but it's a pretty generic piece.
Better price than what I bought last. Hard to justify a used one at this rate.

For the HEI I would look at DUI Daves unitfied ignitions. Not as inexpensvine as the ebay dist.

Also don't get one for the 74' it only has 7 degrees of advance.

MTS offers Electronic conversion kit for a cadillac point dist. Put one in my old correct craft ski boat work with no problems for years.

Through some trading I ended up with an MSD AL 6 box, blaster high vibration coil and dist for my Cadillac. The MSD ran great with no issues for over 5 years. I can not say it was any better or worse than a correctly setup HEI with a good coil.
