A great time

Florida Cracker

Well-known member
I want to thank Randy (airboat4fun) for leading the ride yesterday. My kids and I had a great time. I will say though it was one heck of a cold front that blew though my home last night when I got back :( . It took a few hours but it (she) eventually warmed back up. I believe it helped that my kids were so enthusiastic as well as me rushing out to give gifts until almost 10 pm. By the way Randy, we made it back quite well, with only 1 small detour by Sniper  . It was nice to put some faces to names. I look forward to future rides together.

Merry Christmas y'all.

John

Randy is like that. And it's cool! Way to go Randy!!!

One-in-a-million is not good enough for Randy - because with the population of the world today, that means there are 4,275 others just like him.

Randy is one-of-a-kind!!!!

:)

I also had a great day! I was great to meet you guys and go riding! Hated to see your kitchen pass run out but we have all been there! So where was the "small detour" ? I was about one hour behind you and was glad to see when I got to the ramp and you guys were gone already.

Rob

It was good to meet some more fantastic people from this site, and it was a nice day for a ride after the rain stopped. Sorry you had to get back early, Randy, Cowboy, Canefan and I had a good time running around in the dark from the cypress back to the ramp. Fog came rolling in pretty good and the last leg was running almost blind. It was a great day for me and hope to ride with y'all again.

10-4 on all the above!

Great day.
It's all about the people, and the company we were in just don't get no better.

I'll ride with y'all again anytime I can.

I was bummed I missed this ride I have never ran that area. My little one had a 102 fever and I couldn't leave her with mama and go out an play. She got well enough before Christmas and that's what counts. I will run there someday no I'm just scrambling to get a boat running!

Glad she's doing better man, and was able to enjoy her Christmas.
Family first.

You did miss a great day though.

Great day, great weather, great tour guide, great ridding partners, great fried chicken and Yoohoo, great area to ride in.
Did I mention it was great?

The detour was slight, I think it was just past Randy's camp where we went a little north briefly. Quickly adjusted and continued to ramp. Waterthunder, we did miss you not being there, but am glad your daughter is feeling better and was able to enjoy Christmas. I'm up in the mountains for a week visiting family and will be hitting the marsh west of Vero, Lord willing, when we return. This was the first group type ride any of my kids had been on and now they can't wait to go again. Hopefully, I can get my wife to go on the next one as well as other kids. That way if I'm late, we can all be late  .

Y'all take care and have Happy New Year.

John

Thanks Again Randy for the wonderful Guiding job my 79 year old Mom had a awesome time and she has not stopped talking about it she has told all of her friends about her ride and the Great time she had and all the wonderful people she met, thunder even though you were not there one of your engines was and it preformed fantastic as usual and Cow boy and the rest of the guys thanks so much for showing up for Moms day in the glades and thank again Randy for the awesome guide service

Twas two days before X-mas, way down in the Glades.
Some friends got together to enjoy the day.
With our airboats and coolers and gas cans in tow,
the south side of 3A is where we would go.

There was Larry and I, Snipers family and mother,
Florida Cracker with kids, RDM20470, Cowboy and Canefan - his brother.

The day started out cloudy, rainy and wet.
but as time went on, it got better yet.
Though it was just two days before Santas fun,
we had highs in the 80s under the Florida sun.

We saw Crossroads and Lost Lake and Bergerons Camp,
then we brought Snipers Mom back to the ramp.
From there the rest of the group headed west,
through the sawgrass and cypress-I think thats the best!

We hit the trail sliding in less than an hour,
we met up at Duck Camp then rode to the tower.

As the shadows got longer and stories were told,
It was time for Florida Cracker to get back to the road.
Sniper had GPS so he led the way,
with only 1 detour I am happy to say.

A few of us boys hung around after dark.
The cypress at night - thats my favorite part.
Skimming along with the trees on both sides,
over water just inches - MAN what a ride.

After riding around it was time to go back,
we broke out the frog chutes, the gigs, and the sacks.
Through the sawgrass and the sloughs we looked for the eyes,
under millions of stars in the clear night sky.

Us good ol boys on aluminum sleds,
were after the frogs... we wanted their legs.
Being out in the Glades at night is a treat,
half a sack full of frogs...the other other white meat.

On our way back we stopped by the two story camp,
the weather was cooler, the air getting damp.
Swamp Fog had rolled in, the night sky was black.
When your light hits the fog, it shines it right back.
Its like driving blind - you cant see far, SO
you just take it easy - and proceed nice and slow.

I felt just like Rudolph leading the way,
with airboats behind me instead of a sleigh.

We all made it back safely and had A GREAT TIME,
DECEMBER GRASSMASHIN with friends from on-line.
Airboats loaded up, we took our toys back to town.
No one got lost, stuck, or broke down.

Our ride got started cause Sniper came down to see MOM.
and THANKS TO MY FRIENDS FROM SOUTHERNAIRBOAT.COM

I have been meaning to tell you guy's I got a great surprise Christmas morning every morning where I was staying in Jupiter on our family's place, I would get up at day break and ease out on the porch to see what kind of wild life I would see and it payed off I saw a great buck lots of trophy wild turkeys, hogs and all kinds of birds but Christmas morning I got to see something, I never thought I would ever see in the wild I had just eased out on the porch with bino's in hand and I saw movement to my left in the tall grass it was to low and long to be a deer so I fixed my bino's on the dirt road that ran threw the open area where this thing was cumming threw the grass it had come out of a thick head of palmetto's and was easing threw the grass tord's the road and then I saw it and I wish I had my Camera it was a Florida Panther I guess on a hunt or cumming from one, I only saw it for about 30 seconds then it went into the tall grass on the other side of the road my heart still pounds when I talk about it, I called my brother at 7 am and told him what I saw but he thought I was pulling his leg until I told him there were tracks left on the road which I covered with a garbage can lid so they would be preserved and he came out that after noon to check them out and confirmed what I saw I think he was excited as I was in just seeing the tracks, he has put his game tracker camera out there and if he get's a picture I will post it

That is cool Sniper everyone should have a Christmas present like that I saw my first in the glades a female and 2 cubs and no camera.
