A second first

Monday I was able to take a longtime friend out duck hunting for his second time this year. He was born and raised in West Palm Beach. He's 59 and had until this year never hunted. Quite the fisherman though. I took him snipe hunting about a month ago - no success. Then I got him out a couple of weeks ago in the marsh, got some shots off but did not connect. On Monday we (John C and I) set him up in his own blind and while set together in another blind. He was able to get a nice drake ringer. It was really neat to watch from a distance. It truly made the hunt.

I say a second first, because opening day my younger son was able to connect on his first duck. A nice mottled duck.

That's cool. I've never been big on bird hunting but I always like seeing people get into hunting for the first time. Good Job!!
