Aero Shell 100

Sam's Wholesale Club if you have those up there may have it

Thing about Aeroshell, not just anybody can get it from Shell. There's only [IIRC] 50 distributors in the country, or one per state. Everyone else must buy it from them and resell it

You don't really HAVE to use aviation oil in a 220. I don't see any reason why a 15w40 diesel oil wouldn't work great, especially synthetic. I also know a few people that use 50w Valvoline VR1 in them with no problems.

If you do this, I would recommend running an external spin on filter adapter that can easily be plumbed into your oil cooler lines. The filter will catch the junk that the auto oils' superior detergents will clean out of your engine

I suggest that you use Aeroshell in any aircraft engine. It is designed for that specific type of operation. Aeroshell has many different types of oil for specific applications. The oil you should use is the RED Label oil. It is an ashless dispersent detergent oil that will keep your motor clean inside. The blue label oil is for the break in of a new motor. It is a straight mineral oil. They also have a synthetic oil and a multi-viscosity oil. But I would not suggest automotive oil for your boat, as I would not suggest Airplane Oil for you Truck.

We have Advanced Discount Auto parts stores down here that have it on the shelf.

Yup, they buy it from Jack Becker Distributing in Jax

Best Line Oil Co. out of Tampa is where I have bought it by the case.
They deliver our Shell bulk oil products.

I need to check them out. Jack Pecker has a minimum 100 dollar order, and their price isn't that great

I think there are good brands for either applications however I have to trust the engineers knew there was a difference between AC (air cooled) And Auto (water cooled) An Ac oil has to deal with issues like a 2 stroke outboard. I believe fuel and oil usage is designed into an aircraft engine and as long as you use ash less oil you shouldn't have a problem with how many hours /Qt you get.

aeroshell 100 is mineral oil 50 weight mainly used for break-in .aeroshell W100 is 50 weight ashless oil. watch which product you order most stores only carry shell W100.
