Cheaper than buying a rebuilt aviation carb, and the guy sold me on it, so I figure I'll give it a shot. Supposedly the issues with running automotive fuel in them have been corrected, it runs on low fuel pressure, has no float bowls, and no accelerator pump -- strikes me as a motorcycle carb, really... I'm interested to see how it will perform on this worn out old Lycoming.....

Doc, What kind of worn out lycoming are you going to try it on? Interested in the results of testing. Always looking at new things both good and bad. Keep us informed. Thanks.

I've got an o-290-D2 I'm putting it on. The engine's never been apart since it's been in my family, I've pulled on jug off to replace the studs where somebody tried to steal a jug, other than that the pistons haven't seen daylight at least since 1977.

It's a 1952 Lycoming, near as I can tell was shipped to Piper Aircraft, and ended up in my family's hands around 1977.... I know I put about 500-800 gallons of fuel through it in the time i've owned it, and I'm not sure how much my father put through it -- but he had it for 10 years before I did.

No accelerator pump that is fine for and aircraft but I don't think they would work too good in an airboat. I would think it will have a very lazy response I could be wrong and it could have some super dupper new booster or venturi but I doubt it!

hahaha the carb that was on that boat up until it was parked in 96 didn't have an accerlator pump in it either, so I probably won't notice the difference. :)

Looks like the old Lake Injectors used on HD's in the late 60's/early 70's as an aftermarket carb. I never useed one and went with Mikuni's and S&S's

The theory of it, apart from the lack of float bowls, seems to be identical to that of motorcycle carbs.... I actually asked him about 4 of them in a rack to work on a motorcycle turbo project I'm piddling with, but not sure how that will work out -- they are physically fairly large.
