air boat races sept 9th 2006

Looks like we are having the air boat races this year on sept 16 2006 at sarno extention
just got the news letter in on this. will be more on it after the meeting this wednesday night at the club house
 
I'm sure some details will start coming out in the meeting. This is my idea and I'm pushing hard for a spectator class for boats that run the river. We already have a sponsor and prize money for this class. And it will be guaranteed that nothing other then a ride boat can inter. The whole purpose of this class is for new people and only new people with ride boats to race.
 
Just so nobody misunderstood, I meant the spectator or ride boat class was my idea not the races themselves.
 
Sounds good to me would like to run mine in it I know it's not the fastest but would be a good time and a fair race
 
That sad that were down to once a year for sanction races. I would love to see more. Seems to me that if we found a flat ground track like cocoa Expo with some running room it would be safer than racing on water. What do you guys think?

Personally I have seen more boats fly on the Hill then the water. The guy who flew at Tampa Hill racing is suing right now and that's why there have not been any races. It's next to imposable to get insurance.
 
Now say what ??? the guy who entered his boat in a race and crashed it is suing ??? That has got to be the stupidist thing I have ever heard of.

Not doubting you thunder at all or in any way ... I can't believe a judge would even let that case get filed. That is why no one wants to sponsor a race for sure. What has happened to someone being responsible for the choices they make in life. I mean a spectator has a certain expectation of reasonable safety but the racer has decided it is what he wants to do and has paid money to do it. GEEZ what a bonehead, they should be blackballed from ever racing again if they are not already.
 
you guy's are stuck in the 50's It has happened before. I have seen lawsuits at a dragstrip I was asked to be a witness and signed a statement in defense of the track of coarse that one was even dumber you wouldn't beleive me if I told ya
 
I guess we are suffering from oldtimers disease. Of course that is the same reason I carry the insurances to cover my work ... just because people love to sue even if it isn't your fault, They call it the shotgun approach and then they switch to a rifle once your head comes up. Oh well it aint the way I was raised. That is almost as bad as the burglar who got hurt beakin in a business successfully sued them for his injuries.
 
The races are not on the 16th they are actually on the 9th. Just letting you all know.

Sign me up for that. Hell....I'd just like to be in a spot to meet some of u guys/gals. Please no one think less of me if I'm holding a beer....I just do it to maintain my rep. LOL
